Re: Semi-Pro Monitors
recently i have swaped my trusty mackie mr5 with focal cms50's. great overall tone and balance and fantastic stereo field. it took them couple of hours first to bring the right sound (when you try them right out from the box they sound really harsh - it says that in the instruction book). i highly ...

Re: Pro Tools 10 or Ableton live 8 ?
do what Rabalder said. just download demo version which has a full functionality for 30 days. its more than enough time to decide :). in the end its all about the workflow. if you happy with protools then no need to spend more money. if you willing to stick with it just wait till protools 11 as to ...

Re: Why does Battery sound better than simpler or sam for kicks?
when you load sample into simpler first check volume ADSR. this is due to the fact the when you open instance of live's simpler it comes with preloaded parameters which in my opinion change sample dynamic drastically. try to play around with them and it will sound the same.

Re: TAL-U-No-62 not showing up in Ableton
double check if by mistake you have not installed a 64 bit version of this plugin. you need 32 bit one in order to run it in ableton live.

Re: Studio connections
the main difference between unbalanced/balanced cables without getting technical is that when you use unbalanced cable which is over a meter you will get noise issues so if you need long cables i would stick with balanced ones.

Re: TAL Noizemaker - Ableton won't see it
hi
maybe you have downloaded 64 bit version of noizemaker. as live is 32 bit you should stick to 32 apps for now. hope that helps.

did you try to change sample rate in preferences/audio menu ? switch that first and then your maudio card will lock in whatever sample rate you require.

Re: ECHO Indigo DJx - reviews?
if you have the latest snow leopard installed then by default its 64 bit. but you should not worry as even though its running in 64 bit there is still lots of 32 bit apps on in the background. just look in the activity monitor apps/utilities (there should be a column 'kind' which shows you which app ...

Re: ECHO Indigo DJx - reviews?
had one in the past only for pcmcia which is kinda little bit bigger. it has a really good sound quality, you can run it on low latency easily but for me there was one major drawback - plastic bit with a volume knob just fell apart after using it for about a year (mostly at home) so just be aware of ...

Re: Help Setting up mopho /slim phatty as external instruments??
hello
i had the same difficulties setting up my virus ti and mopho using external instrument plugin. I end up using another audio track to trigger mopho sounds (midi triggered from virus ti track). i know that it is not what you are looking for but for me it works.
