To be honest I am sure it will be fun to play around with the video aspects of Live 6. I just was "debating" as I wouldn't really like to see a large percentage of new requests being delivered to enhance video in future Live upgrades as part of the core software rather than an option. Looks likely ...

my good buddy Pete was behind the counter.
we had this horrible tyrant of a general manager named Tim Miller. He was a hideous prick. He used to warn us of horrific consequences if we got caught giving an ex-employee any sort of discount at all. When Pete hooked me up for my bulb purchase he was ...

I wonder was it 0.01% of users requesting it, but the other 99.99% didn't bother to make any requests  kind of like GWB getting elected the first time.
Anyway, no major complaint from me, I was just curious as to whether there are many people fervently interested in it. I do think it should be ...

Live 6 video - who asked for it?
Personally I am disappointed to see Ableton starting to develop video funtionality.
It is not on the roadmap that I hoped Ableton would stick to.
I wanted to see them dedicated to only developing more top-notch audio gizmos for Live (for my money).
... Or at least leave the video functionality ...

haha, I can imagine building something like this in the garden shed, just need the parts from an old steam engine, church organ, recycled grand piano parts and a few hundred wooden marbles.
Not that different in principle from Reaktor, Tassman, Audiomulch, Bidule or MAXMSP ... etc. Though slightly ...

Using Live in a conventional real live band
Anyone sitting on stage with a drummer, bass, keyboard, guitar and vocalist etc + Live?
I'm drained of enthusiasm for any more DJ-type fiddling, synthiness and crunchy beats are just makign me sleepy. Just want to use Live like it was originally intended - an instrument, the god of all effect ...

I don't think there is any need for discounting ... but if there is to be a operator + L5 upgrade "deal", then those users who have already bought operator MUST then get discounted L5 upgrade price. Their good faith shown in Ableton in buying operator when it came out helped to pay the developers ...

Re: live Live Performance: How complex is your .als set?
1. Audio Sample Clips:
What percentage of their live Live .als set is:
10% = [a] 1 shots,
70% = 4 - 8 bar clips
20% = [c] longer than 8 bars
None (I just use original stuff) = [d] full track clips (eg 256 bars)
___
