There's a problem with rewire as well. because I'm using Reason in almost all of my compositions, so I'm already rewired. Oh, and my platform is windows xp. I think I'm finding a solution to the overall problem, though. It's basically fooling around with the global quanticization by hitting control ...

Well, basically, the problem is that when I play live, I get into these fancy intros and then kick my loops in. Problem is that when I try to record my music, because the intros arec off tempo, there's a tendency for loops to take a long time to kick in. I guess that I'm finding that I'm just going ...

Off the grid channel capacity

Basically the ability to record from the master as it's played live rather than everything being forced to grid time. This would enable one to record their compositions as they are played in live performance. As it stands, one has to change one's music and timing from what they've played live in ...

No, unfortunately that won't work, because if record is used anywhere in the program, all loops are forced to grid, in otherwords, when you hit the controller button, there will be a lagtime before the clip starts up. How much that lag time is will be determined by how far off the grid you are. If ...

How to record Live's output?

I've got a perfect storm problem with my audio card and Live. I need to record the output of Live as performed, to a wave file.

The reason for this is that many of my compositions have off tempo intros, and I kick my drumloops in using my controller buttons. I can't set to no quanticization ...

Thankyou very much!

It will be good to be able to recommend Live, because I'm not a stranger to it.

Yeah, thanks for this post, it makes me breath easy. I was always afraid of the unlock key thing, mostly because of my experience with other companies. I've figured out that Ableton actually CARES about it's customers! It's that attitude that has made me a diehard fan of Ableton. That, and the fact ...

Ableton Live and DJ'ing

I'm getting involved in a music program at the Unitarian Universalist fellowship in my town, to teach various music topics and skills to young people. We will be covering various musical subjects ranging from instrument instruction and folk music to electronic music, (which I will be teaching). I've ...

I agree totally. With some of the major poo that you have to deal with when working with some other companies, Ableton is a breath of fresh air.

Sample prob with reaktor in 6.01 using multicore

Over at Native Instruments they've reported a serious bug involving sample based ensembles in which samples drop out if live has multicore support turned on in PC format. I was about to upgrade to a dual core machine and use Reaktor extensively, and this has thrown me for a loop. Has anybody ...

Have you turned off any antivirus, firewall, or unnecessary service? If not, then do so, and that will probably clean it up.

Well, I just got the clip method to work. In a way, it may be even more flexible than the previous method would have been. When sending info direct from keyboard, the pattern will play all the way through, with this, there's a lot more control as to the patterns.

Thanx much!!!!
