A quick follow up. It seems to work now. I have to arm a track first, then it functions when selecting other tracks. I don't remember having to do this before, but I could be wrong.

I had latency issues with an Arturia Keystep Pro. I wanted to use Live as a virtual tape machine, just recording performances from external hardware but the sync was always off. The Backup file method is not completely logical, at least to me. It seems the backup is created once a file is saved a second time.
