running Mandrake w/ e16 windowmanager, blackbox, ice, kde3, 3.5, 4 etc, or Gnome...just worndering if anyone has been able to run ableton live 8.2.2 in linux

when i add .WAV or .mp3 songs into an audio track, it never plays at the original tempo. is there something i can do besides raising the tempo manually ? or am i doing something incorrectly

on the plus side.
Ableton made good as they (i suppose) forced a serial number my way shortly after an email i sent them (ok, 4-5 hours, but it was on a saturday morning, so somebody is monitoring their emails)...that was prompt, and a kuddos to their team.

sad story.
and i just remembered...both of these stores are within 10, and 20 minutes from my place, yet i didn't get home until after 9pm....thats more than 3 hours to get 1 thing. and the setup took another 4+ hours...

I just bought an APC40
It included live8.1 but
It was a massive pita to get this to even load (read my rant ) and update.
So, will this version of ‘live8.2’ expire in 29 days, leaving me high and dry ? Or will I be able to continue to use this software in the very same manner as it is right now ...

i would like to import a few songs and mash them up.
other things i don't find intuitive are :
-drum machine ...can this thing behave like a drum machine ?
-sound mahcine ..can this also make freak sounds, or vocals ? even from ...
