Re: A Three-Year Journey from Ableton Live to Bitwig Studio

a quick search on elektronauts found a single thread with at least ~30 instances of folks reporting crashes in bitwig. I didn't search auxiliary bitwig threads, just the main off-topic one. There are thousands of threads on this ableton forum. So you'd have to control for the sample size, as well as ...

Re: A Three-Year Journey from Ableton Live to Bitwig Studio

I'd understand if this were better closed out, but, yes, there is a bit of cognitive bias going on here.

And I do think it's perfectly valid that this is your subjective choice. I read it precisely because I welcome an "a-ha" moment with bitwig.

I've always asserted that I am seeking the best ...

Re: My recent experience with Splice support + Ableton integration

sounds like a cautionary tale for organising sound libraries. I used to DJ, and then came along the streaming music services. Not that this killed my DJing, but the mess that it made of my library did me in....

Re: Push 3 Standalone Follow Tempo

<s>It's a feature I overlooked, however the latest Push beta mentions something to the effect that this is now fixed (it was under bugs, not features)</s>
Ah, yes, I've played with this feature, but alas, this update does not sound like it applies to standalone:
Enabling Tempo Follower from Push ...

This post is my first bit of evidence that this has yet to be implemented:

Re: Look what you can do with a Gibraltar Gem stand

Q for you:
What are you using for the pancake that appears to be under the Push? ie, the tray: is it also part of this project? What do you typically use it for?
And what did your total come to? It seems to me that if you did this project Ala carte, it would be nearing $300 for all the parts ...

Re: Instrument folders/categories are back (on Push 3 & DAW) - Via TAGS!

another limitation is that it appears to only keep track of stock folders.
Even before filters, My User Library of presets includes far more folders/categories than the collections. For example, even if I've assigned the Drift the same collier collection, even if I've assigned the preset folders ...

Re: Expressive chords on Standalone

Submitted the support request
For now, you can do this:
Open your directory on Push from the Live browser
Go to Push>User Library>Presets>Midi Effects
Create a New folder within this subfolder named "Expressive Chords"
Go to Ableton Live library> MIDI effects (Top half of browser, native devices ...

Re: Look what you can do with a Gibraltar Gem stand

damn, that looks so performance-ready.

I'm definitely making this project.

Might look for an auction lot of Gem hardware, just in case the additional parts work for a studio. I've a less professional set up with pirated electronic drum kits and ultimate support stands

Re: Expressive chords on Standalone

I think a related, and perhaps more ideal workflow question would be "why aren't the presets for expressive chords showing up on my Push?"
I'm having a similar issue: I see the midi files folder but not the presets folder.

Re: Time Signatures

It may come as a surprise that I entirely agree with you, seeing as I’ve often come to the defense of the new musical practitioners on here.

The time signature argument has been clouded by presumptions, insult, provocation, and grasping theory. It’s important to remember that especially with such ...

Re: Djing with Serato and Ableton Push

This is more to keep a dialog, a sounding board for you to work this out, because it sounds cool. I don't think you need a controller for the EQ, although you could look at this:

to me, the Channel EQ feels good under the hands with a push. And the ...

Re: Template Sets workflow?

you can leave the project in the Templates folder, but when it opens a set, you will go to Current Set under files and save it as a Template, as indicated. However, the template will be saved untitled in the same Templates folder in the User Library. You can then go in and give it a name, keeping ...

Re: File transfer problems...

I will add that I am not getting any warning of missing references or files from within the set itself. In other words, no "some samples are missing" prompt once a set is opened on the Push3s. So shall I expect smooth sailing? So far, so good
