Re: Ableton + Maschine Live Jam Based Set

Wow, the live set sounds really interesting man, anything online? As to your problem, I'm not sure there's any easy way around it. I guess your best bet is to properly mixdown each 'kit' you plan on using with maschine so the overall volume is the same each time. You could also try grouping the inpu...

Re: Tutorial 2: Beat Mangling in Ableton Live

Ah ye, unfortunately, you can't modulate that parameter, dunno why. Best work around it is to copy the clip to the session view, chop it up and set the transient fade-out value for each slice as you want, then consolidate it again. Bit sloppy but hey. If not, just automate a gate effect (you can do ...

Re: Tutorial 2: Beat Mangling in Ableton Live

yo tony, no worries about the hijacking! thanks for the read. What exactly are you trying to do? I don't think theres much audio chopping/mangling you can't do with live. Of course the next stage is layering on the effects... Not saying live is the greatest or anything, just saying, a tool is a tool...

Tutorial 2: Beat Mangling in Ableton Live

This tutorial uses Live’s Warping and Clip Envelopes to mash and mangle audio clips. By exploiting these functions, we can achieve effects such as step-sequenced granular stretching, shuffling beats into new time signatures, transient distortion and even creating completely new synths by effecting, ...

Tutorial - Granular Synthesis in Ableton Live

Hello there! This tutorial, the first in a series, will show you how to build your own granular synthesis system using Ableton Live (but the principles can be extended to any software sequencer) by slicing and re-sampling audio clips. First comes a quick explanation about granular synthesis then str...

using instrument racks for live set?

Hey, I want to build a midi-based live set using live's drum & instrument racks. I plan on having sets of midi tracks feeding data to these racks but can't quite figure out how to route the midi data so it enters the right chain. With the drum racks its handy enough as they are one-hits so I can div...

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?

less gadgetry more reliability... The ability to freeze tracks with sidechains and other routing & nested groups would be nice but I don't think there are many more features that should be added... Most of the devices posted here can either be made by combining live devices (eg short delay/reverb wo...

Live wont recover crashes

Live 8 seems to be having problems recovering work after crashes. 90% of the time, after I attempt to recover after a crash, it tells me a serious program error has occured and shuts down. Next time I open Live, it asks me again and this time recovers an older version. Do the most recent crash files...

Re: Audio stops playing on master channel??

I managed to find and delete the channel that was creating this problem. Project plays as normal now. There was no effects on the channel, just an audio file so I think maybe it could have gotten corrupted somehow or maybe it was recorded at a different sample rate or something. Still though, this s...

[6663] Audio stops playing on master channel??

Just wondering if this is a live bug or something to do with the plugins I'm using... In project I am working on at the moment, the audio cuts out on the master channel without warning (the CPU meter is below 50%). The level meters on all the channels still show audio though and when I solo certain ...

Re: Eternal External Sync Problem

This is a headache alright... I ended up giving up an it altogether! Just set the bpms equal and hit play simultaneously, then nudge my drum machine into sync...

Would be great to have this sorted for live 8...

UC33e problems with live 6 osx

Hi, I was fine running xp on my mac with ableton live 6 and my midi controller but since switching to mac (Boot Camp was giving me problems) my UC33e cuts out without warning. Switching it back on throws my partners laptop out of sync with mine and ruins our set (we're synced using midi- his firewir...

Yo. Just in case anyone else has this problem - I managed to fix it. You've to disable wireless & bluetooth in xp then the audio runs smoothly.

Thanks for all the advice
