I don't trust the CPU meter in Live 6.0. I will get CPU spikes of 200% when I'm performing live without any dropouts. WTF that even means is beyond me.

I believe using midi loopback, yes. If you are on a mac experiment with the internal IAC bus. I can't confirm this, but I imagine you could set the markers to midi notes, then from session view create short midi clips that output those said notes to the iac bus. enable the iac for ins and outs and ...

solution: use a custom painted qwerty keyboard with a guitar strap to launch clips. or program your controller to send cc values instead of notes. or yeah, midi channels. you can even program which controller live listens for midi on in the IO pane on the arrange and session strip.
