Another solution is to use an Audio Effect Rack in order to create parallel effects chains. Then you can route your lead sound to one chain or another using the Chain Select Ruler. See chapter 17 in pages 240 & 241 of the user manual, you will find some interesting examples.
All the best.

Re: What to buy once you have laptop+ableton??
Hello World,
You know what? I bought a second-hand Waldorf Q+ a few weeks ago! :D
I have a MacBook Pro with Live 7 installed and I really enjoy them!
I had some quite nice piece of hardware in the past but I finished to sell everything in the last years to start producing music only using ...

Re: anyone know where this bass comes from?
Hello,
when I listen to this nice deep bass sound, here is what I ear:
* a sound based on sine waveforms
* the pitch of the sine is slowly modulated
* maybe 2 sines are used and both their pitch are modulated but not in synchronisation, which certainly produce the unpredictable chorus effect ...

Re: Help me decipher this sound
Hello,
have you tried to listen to the song "Signs" played reversed?
I think the voice effect you're looking for is simply made of an Ohhh sample (or real singer) with :
* fast attack and quite fast volume decay
* a low pass filter closing at the end of the sound
* the whole thing played ...

Re: best way to get fat, clear heavy kicks 4 techno?
Hello,
there was a time when I tried to recreate the kind a kick used by Trentemoller on his great track "Physical Fraction". The main kick is very clean, fat, loud and very low in frequency. The best way I found (and I think I managed to obtain the same kick) was to program it with a synthesizer ...

Re: trying to recreate this sound
Hello,
To me, it sounds like a lead synth at the front center of the stereo image with a distorted guitar at the back sides, everything being passed into a side-chain compressor triggered by the kick (with hard pumping effect).
You should try to recreate the lead synth with a synth using a ...

Re: How do I delay something and speed up the delay?
Hi mate,
I'm afraid you can not do this easily with a standart delay effect because you will certainly obtain audio glitches while you reduce the delay value.
Maybe you could try to do the trick by hand:
1. sample the sound you want to repeat and load it in Simpler instrument
2. record a midi ...

Re: hardware synth midi only into sequencer?
Hello!
First you need to check if the hardware synth you want to buy is able to send its aperggiated MIDI notes to its MIDI output. Generally, you will find a menu in the MIDI/Global settings of the synth which can be turned on/off. For example, I know that such a menu exists in Access Virus C ...

Re: Clip envelopes annoying, or is it just me?
Clip enveloppes are relative values (%), not absolute ones. That's the reason why when you want to automate a send value using enveloppe inside a clip, it is yet at 100% even if your send knob is at -inf. :?:
So you may ask: relative to what? To the current value of the knob or the fader you are ...

Re: Multiple headphone monitor mixes?
If your soundcard provides (at least) 2 stereo outputs (let's say "1/2" and "3/4") a simple thing you can do is:
* create the main mix using the level faders and the master track routed to output 1/2
* create a separated mix using the send knobs as levels on your audio and MIDI tracks and then ...
