Re: Are you getting PUSH?
Out of all the options for pads available out there like Maschine, padKontrol, triggerfinger, axiom...etc. (with the exception of Novation Remote line which were laughably rock hard and Korg microKontrol which were buttons, not pads), Akai pads (MPC/MPD/MPK/LPDs..etc) are by far the least ...

Izotope Alloy 2 vs new EQ 8, Gate, Glue Compressor...
With the new EQ8 and updated Gate and Compressors in Live 9 is it worth getting Alloy 2 anymore? I'm planning on picking up Izotope Ozone on a cyber monday deal (http://audiodeluxe.com/), but was wondering if it was worth it to get the Mix and Mastering Bundle with both Ozone and Alloy 2.

Re: Live 9 pricing
Can someone tell me the price for upgrade 8->9 Suite BOXED version in $$$ as I can only see prices in €€€, but if I read in this forum, there seems to be a huge difference (much cheaper in $$$, even with exchange rates)

Re: Live 8 Suite Box to Live 9 Suite worth it?
The way I read it is like this.
As of now there still is a difference between Live 8 Suite an Live 8 Suite Boxed. With the boxed version you right now you get session drums and the orchestra instruments on the DVDs that come with the box.
When Live 9 comes out there will be no difference in ...

I asked the same question and got an email response from Ableton I posted here.

There's no difference in content between the download and box version anymore with Live 9.

Re: Live 8 Suite Box to Live 9 Suite worth it?
Sent an email to Ableton support and had this confirmed. There's no longer any difference between the download and box versions in terms of sound content. I ended up going for the box anyway so I could get the samples earlier because Q1 could mean as late as the end of March...

Live 8 Suite Box to Live 9 Suite worth it?
I was going to upgrade from Live 8 to Live 8 Suite box to get the extra sounds, but it looks like the free upgrade of Live 9 Suite comes with all the extra session drums and orchestra sounds regardless of whether you order the box or not. Is it worth it to get the box version or just get Live 8 ...

Akai Max 61 Trademark
Has anyone heard anything about a 61 Key version of the Akai Max keyboard? I was hunting around for info and it looks like Akai applied for a trademark for Max 61 back in May. http://www.trademarkia.com/max61-85621399.html

I don't have another DAW, but that would tell us if it's Ableton or FM8doom_Oo7 wrote:Did anyone test this in another 32 / 64 capable daw like S1 ?

Re: FM8 64-bit sounds different than 32-bit
Just tried opening an fresh project in the Beta based on your suggestion and I get the same result. Definitely a bizarre behavior.taoyoyo wrote:Are you loading the FM8 patch fresh onto a 64bit Live session or are you opening a saved 32 bit session into 64bit?

FM8 64-bit sounds different than 32-bit
Not sure if this is a bug on Ableton's side or Native Instrument's side, but when I run FM8 using the following patch playing C1 in 32-bit vs 64-bit sounds complete different. If I transpose the note to C2 in 64-bit mode it sounds closer but I don't think it's quite the same.

Re: Live 8 gets 64bit support.
Just downloaded the Mac version and loaded up a project. The project seemed to load a lot quicker and cpu usage was lower. However, one of my fm8 bass patches sounds much different in 64-bit mode than in 32-bit more. Not sure if this is Ableton or something up with FM8.. Just thought I'd report my ...

Maschine or Machine Mikro w/ APC40
Long story short I purchased an MPD32 and am not happy with the sensitivity of the pads so I'm returning it. I tried messing around with it for a while to map some of the things I was missing on the APC40 to try and make it work and considered replacing the pads, but as I kept messing with it I was ...

Re: MPD Workflow / Pad Sensitivity
Or maybe better, return the MPD32 and get a Korg padKontrol instead.
It's cheaper so you can get some other stuff and the pads get very good reviews!
Oh man, you just had to go and throw another choice of controller in there didn't you. Can't you tell I'm already having a hard of enough time ...

Re: MPD Workflow / Pad Sensitivity
My own example: the MPD is used almost exclusively with a couple of drumrack presets/templates I built. The first pad bank uses the pads for normal sample triggering, the second pad bank is mapped to the mute switches of the used (max 16) samples, the third pad bank has all kinds of Live functions ...
