Live 7 Legacy Drum Kits
I never did understand why Ableton removed the Live 7 Impulse acoustic and electronic drum kits. I think they're so much better than any of the drum kits currently available. At least they made those kits available in the Live 7 Legacy Pack download. Anybody else still use them?

Re: Allow Multiple Instances
just tried this again. have 2 instances of live 8.0.3. running, both playing audio. not sure why you have no audio in the 2nd instance...
I tried a couple of other things, and the problem seems to be with my audio interface not sharing drivers. I use an old M-Audio Delta 1010. The ASIO drivers ...

Re: Allow Multiple Instances
i run 2 instances sometimes but don't use rewire. never had any problems with any functionality tho, so unless you need rewire is it a problem it comes up like that?
The second instance says it's coming up as a rewire slave because a rewire host is already open. But the rewire doesn't really work ...

Re: Allow Multiple Instances
. What do you do when you're working on one project and want to check out something in a project that you've done previously?
Simply save the current project and launch the other maybe?
Yeah, works for getting a small amount of info, but pretty cumbersome otherwise. In Cubase, for example ...

Re: Allow Multiple Instances
Hmmmm. So apparently nobody tries to run multiple instances. What do you do when you're working on one project and want to check out something in a project that you've done previously?

Allow Multiple Instances
I have Allow Multiple Instances enabled in Preferences. However, when I open a second instance of Live it comes up in rewire mode. Is that the only way you can run more than one instance? Is there any way I can bring a second instance of Live up without it being in rewire mode?

Rewire Multiprocessor Support Still Doesn't Work
Live 8.0.1 + Pro Tools 8
Win XP SP 3 Pro
Have to turn Multiprocesor Rewire Support off or else the entire computer freezes up when I start to play. I'm routing multiple Pro Tools instrument tracks to Live. When I tried this in Live 7 the problem only happened with multiple tracks, not just one. I ...

Live 8 VI's
Back in Live 7 if you bought just the base product there were only Impulse and Simpler patches and not very many of them at all.
Live 8 seems to have a lot more VI patches with just the base product, but they all look different, for example, Organ-Moodmaker or Bass Foog M1. All I see are the macro ...

Groove Playback
If I drag a groove into a new midi track, I can play it and hear a kick drum sound. But there's no instrument assigned to the track. Where's the sound coming from?

Re: Huge differences in Library size between Live 7 and 8
So even though you're advised to use your Live 7 library or at least a copy of it, you're upset because they didn't include this in an already 1.2 GB download.
And its still available..
I'm sorry, but there is no way of winning this argument either side. Some people will be pissed off that they ...

Re: Huge differences in Library size between Live 7 and 8
Legacy means = Old + Optional
Like the legacy Grain Delay for example.
You can't blame them for wanting people to start with a cleaner and better organized library.
Show me one person that actually uses all 12000 files..
To declare all of the previous Impulse presets "legacy" is just plain ...

Re: Ok, i installed EIC2, now what?
Related (I think) question: I installed EIC2 when I got Live 7, but I also ordered the boxed version of Live 8. Do I really need to reinstall EIC2 when I install Live 8, or is it the same?
