Re: Using Addictive Drums in Ableton

Only other thing I can think of is are the version of AD and Live the same (i.e. both 32bit or 64bit)?

Re: Using Addictive Drums in Ableton

You need to locate the Addictive Drums VST .dll file and copy it to your VST folder - it will then appear in your 'plugins' list.

It was a while ago, but I think I had to search 'addictive' in windows explorer when the installer for AD changed and wouldn't let you specify a file path.

Hope that ...

Re: RockBand Drums + Ableton

I did this a couple of years ago (on Windows XP PC) using "JoyToKey" utility to change gamepad (RockBand drums) buttons to qwerty keyboard output, which then provided the qwerty keyboard input to Live in place of midi (triggered drums in Impulse). Need to launch JoyToKeys each time you boot computer.

Re: Add notes and thoughts on a session.

There are VSTs that are effectively just "notepads" that you can type into for this purpose - "VST Notes" is one that allows you to use different fonts/colours.

If you're still looking to buy it, Razor is half price from the NI site now (22/11/13)

Re: Native Instruments Razor

I've got it, sounds great. You might want to hold on a couple of weeks as most years NI have loads of stuff on offer for Black Friday (often individual Komplete instruments half price) - I've picked up Battery 3, Damage, Absynth plus others this way (and am hoping Battery4 upgrade and a few other ...

Re: Programming my Masterkeyboard

I don't read German so don't know if your keyboard can do this but...

set the drum pads (within the keybaod config) to use a different midi channel (i.e 10) than the keys (which will be on channel 1 for example).

Then in your Synth track in Live, set it to receive midi just from channel 1,
And on ...

Re: Ableton with electronic drum kit

I bought a Roland HD-1 earlier this year (cheap end of line deals seem to still be on) and hook this up to Live using a midi cable (both standard 5-pin and "5-pin to usb" work perfectly).

I use this primarily to play Addictive Drums - this has loads of edrum preset mappings and worked straight off ...

Re: Best Rockband/Guitar Hero Drum Kit for playing MIDI???

I use the 5 pin midi output on the built in controller with a standard midi cable - other end plugs into Emu 1820 that's connected to a PC running Windows XP. Midi input selected in the live routing.

3 main pads are wired internally to the controller, the others (kick and cymbals) have the small ...

Re: Best Rockband/Guitar Hero Drum Kit for playing MIDI???

A couple of weeks ago I bought the "Rock Hero Warriors Of Rock" box for PS3 that included the drum kit - 3 pads, 2 cymbals, 1 kick pedal. All are velocity sensitive and has the 5 pin midi output.

It's fun for bashing around on - I've used it with Battery and Addictive Drums. Pads do register ...

Re: Battery 3 and padkontrol

i know how to change the notes but i just want a regular scale with all the white and black keys on my padkontrol and synch to battery cells

If you know how to change the notes on the PadKontrol then why not set up one of its scenes so that all the pads correspond to the default 4x4 Battery grid ...

Extremely cheap drum pads / footswitches...

I've just bought and tried out the "Rock Band Portable Drums" by MadCatz (xbox360 version) - plugged in to my PC and using a utility called Joy2Key to convert the game controller drum hits to keyboard characters and this works brilliantly as drum triggers in Live. I've tested this so far with ...

Re: OMG!!! OMG!! WTF!!!! Launchpad RELEASE changed to 27/11/09

Why not keep your order with Dolphin (knowing they can't deliver until the end of November) and place an order with Digital Village hoping they can get you one next week - if the DV order then does get delayed you could always cancel it, if it turns up then cancel the Dolphin one! Let the money go ...
