Insalling a vst that only comes with a .dll file?
Running mac and I just downloaded dblue glitch usually when your installing a vst you drop it in the folder where all your other vst's are, rescan, re-open and your done, so what gives? I know I'm not suppose to rename the file extension or anything like that right? Am I supposed to put this ...

Questions.....What's going on with these synths?
Hey, so I've got 3 questions for those who don't mind entertaining/helping me.
Question 1 is about an effect on some chords. Which come in right at the start of the song. - https://soundcloud.com/drewlustro/disclosure-2011-blue-you

Help Identifying this field recording/found sound?
Starts at 0:16 seconds

I'm pretty sure its a field recording/found sound of some sort. Dunno if he got it from the web or sourced it himself, but I can't figure out what it is. Sounds like some sort of spinner/toy? lol......Any ideas as to what it might ...

Re: Help/advice fixing this "drop" (stuck at the end).
the operator screen shot shows that You use just one osc and parallel algorithm, so You've got like 3 more sounds within the operator ready to use, and although all of them go through the same filter, still You may design completely new sound with each of them.
Also if You need to make the sound ...

Re: Help/advice fixing this "drop" (stuck at the end).
Maybe duplicate the instrument onto another track and hit the other note with it.
This is tricky, and the type of Frankenstein job I was trying to avoid lol, because to do this I would basically have to turn it into audio and grab/crop out the last note. In midi form this is actually a chord ...

Help/advice fixing this "drop" (stuck at the end).
So basically I'm working on the intro for a song I'm demoing up, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to coax another note out of the first part of this stupid drop before it stops playing. You'll see what I mean if you go hear and listen to it https://soundcloud.com/cy_mk/vs-song-2 ...

Mixed In Key software will tell you what key a song is in.
Also see my Music Theory tutorials. Work your way through the first two and you'll have the basics at least.

Piano Chord/Progression Displayer for Mac?
Let's say I come up with some chords and a progression and I'd like to know the key and the musical names of the chords played (Am7 Gsus2, etc...). As the starting chord isn't always the key apparently. Is there some software I could punch chords/progressions into, and it give me the key and name of ...

Opening midi files in ableton? How?
Pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the standard .mid (file extension), so it must be Ableton that's getting it wrong this time around. I'm importing from Melodyne (audio to midi). Which creates some weird .wav.mdd file extension that I'm sure can't be imported? lol, so I change that to .mid and ...

How do I convert a hummed audio to midi in melodyne?
As the title suggest. I'd like to know how to convert a hummed audio line to midi in melodyne. Why this hasn't been answered efficiently boggles my mind considering how long the software has been out. Nothing to complicated, hell something as simple as the mario theme. How would I go about doing ...

Re: Can you record the vinyl distortion effect in real time?
- Vinyl Distortion plays permanently in the background, but can only be herd when its track is armed.
Yes, that effect makes a noise unless you turn it off or down or mute the track. I don't think you mean 'arm' by the way - that's to do with recording.
- Unless you draw in a blank clip then you ...

Can you record the vinyl distortion effect in real time?
Like into the arrangement, and have it stop after its midi or audio clip ends? I'm using vinyl distortion on a track now, and its pretty much permanently in the background unless I un-arm the track. Which is annoying lol. All I want to do is record it for a couple of seconds during my intro, and ...
