I'm an accountant. Well, a part-qualified accountant. College two nights a week which stuffs up music a bit. Father and husband. Never been especially prolific at the best of times but I manage a new tune about every 3 or 4 months these days!

I'm sure he himself said in an interview not that long ago (sorry, can't find the link) that his philosophy was to change up his style as he progressed, but not make such a radical departure that the new stuff bore little relation to what had gone before. Having heard the new LP, his own personality ...

I understand where you're coming from, but I must admit that if my impression of the music around me is poor it motivates me more to make the sort of music I would like to hear. I'm sure I'm not alone on this.

In other words, better to light a candle than curse the darkness. Innit?

I have been learning my way round Live and recently was trying some warping on whole tracks. The program is working fine and then suddenly the audio sounds garbled and distorted. It stops if I restart the program, or if I change the soundcard settings in the Live control panel away from ASIO on ...

Work out where the vocals are roughly in the frequency spectrum and cut the other frequencies. It's a bit of an art in itself I think, but I'm sure this is how people like RJD2, Shadow et al do it
