Workaround found
well, I guess the workaround is pretty easy - record the segment into a new midi clip using track-to-track recording, but it still seems like a terminology bug or at least inconsistent UI feature - you can render a selected area to disk, why can't you export a selected area to midi file?

Export MIDI Clip question/possible bug
I recorded a clip in MIDI, and then I split the clip into several sections. I want to export only a single section, but Export MIDI Clip insists on exporting the entire recorded clip. Since each section is technically a Clip, it seems to me that this is a Live bug. Is there a clean workaround? (BTW ...

Newbie wants recommendations for clip organization
I'm just getting into using Live 6, and I'm discovering clip management to rapidly be becoming a major issue. There are various things to manage:
- Impulse presets (are the samples stored with the presets? if the original files move, are the presets destroyed?)
- I might have 20 clips in 2 ...
