Re: Push 3 questions
Can’t speak to all of these since I’m a Live user, but I plugged the Push into my iPad running ShowMIDI and it delivered note on/off, channel pressure for aftertouch, pitch bend on the x-axis, and cc 74 for the y-axis — so as long as your source software can map those parameters, you do have MPE ...

Re: Live Looper Woes
That’s a strange issue for sure. The easiest thing I can think of is to activate Remote for your MIDI controller, make sure the controller is set to Note or Momentary so that it sends a NoteOff or 0 message when you let go of the button, then map it to the Looper’s Pedal control using Cmd+M.

Re: MPC 3 vs Push 3
This is 100% speculation on my part, but there is one thing that makes me think it’s always been part of the plan, and one thing that makes me think it’s coming soon:
1) the Push 3’s jogwheel. It’s useful for a lot of things, but it would be especially useful for navigating long, linear timelines ...

Re: Push 3 Getting Some Love
This covers all of my “this is annoying” gripes (e.g. needing to fire up my laptop any time I wanted to change a macro) and almost all of my “this would be nice” wishlist (renaming collections! Default sets!).
All in all I’m very excited. Planning to dig into the beta later today.

Re: PUSH 3 - Customer Service - Warranty - TOTAL FAIL!
I had an issue with my first unit. When I reached out to support, it took about three weeks for them to assess the issue (I had to send them two videos and two system logs because the first batch didn’t give them everything they needed), then another week or so to determine the cause and that my ...

Re: Push 3 Standalone owners: Happy?
If anyone is reading this and debating whether to buy, I'll say that Standalone has a complicated value proposition -- as of June 20, 2024, there is simply no way it's competitive as a $2,000 standalone production environment. However, as a $1,000 MPE keyboard, Ableton controller, and audio/MIDI/CV ...

Faderfox EC4 - AOK!
Wait, you got it working in Standalone? Mine only works if I manually map it in Live and transfer the set to Standalone.
The Faderfox device templates need to be added to the Live application folders so I didn’t think it was possible to use the EC4 natively without going ...

Re: Help! troubleshoot Ableton not detecting ADAT audio signal.
It sounds like you’ve already rebooted, but make sure that your ins and outs are enabled in Live’s audio settings then restart Live.
In my setup, I have an Octopre running in and out of a Push 3. I use an M2 MacBook Air running whatever the latest MacOS is. ADAT outputs 15/16 always run into reamp ...

Re: SM58 Mic with Push 3 is super quiet
But an impedance adapter is worth buying even if you wind up with a replacement Push.
Imo it's not worth spending money on such adapter atm:
- Push adapts to the correct impedance, and it doesn't work correctly with their guitar either anyway.
- your adapter only makes sense if you're trying ...

Re: SM58 Mic with Push 3 is super quiet
Are you using a “lo-z to hi-z” adapter cable or just an XLR to 1/4”? I can’t explain it in technical terms, but “z” refers to electrical impedance. The SM58 wants to see a low impedance input and the Push 3’s Inst / High settings are high impedance.

Re: What are the correct I/O labels for Push 3?
Just wanted to ask how the hell you use CV tools if 5/6 & 7/8 are deactivated? Picked up Push 3 the other day but having a nightmare as the only CV outs I have access to are via outputs 1/2
Go into Push’s CV settings and make sure your ports are set to output CV, then go into Live desktop’s ...

Re: "Baseline" Push standalone features and Ableton Live updates?
We also need to remember that Live 12 is probably going to be in beta until March — plenty of time for them to nail down a feature set for Standalone and make another announcement.

Re: "Baseline" Push standalone features and Ableton Live updates?
I don’t think anyone outside of Ableton knows yet. Push Standalone is in an awkward spot — general industry practice has hardware manufacturers releasing free firmware updates, but software developers are still largely either selling paid full-version updates or SaaS subscriptions. And I’m very ...

I’ve been using Push 3 for a few months and there are a few things I’ve run into that seem like easy fixes:
Some sort of travel mode to prevent it booting up in your bag. My first thought is to hit the power button then any arrow key three times since they’re flush with the body and are unlikely ...

Re: Automatic Sound card Switching
With Push 3, this has become a must-have IMO. I use an undocked laptop and have gotten into the habit of closing Live before I unplug my interface, but switching from Controller to Standalone disconnects the audio interface and you can only transfer data when Live is open. This means that every time ...
