Waveform zoom is not new to 12.2.
You can find the controls to the left of the H and W buttons in arrangement.

The feature zooms in on the waveform as if you were changing the gain. Different behavior than the magnifying glass.

In the beta 12.2b9 (released march 12) there's a M4L update to the Max 9.0.5 version and there's a little mention that says : "Max for Live: fixed crash when loading some devices". And there's also a huge quantity of new features.

I don't use the betas, but it seems promising.

I had the exact same issue with Live 12.1.10, running on a Mac M1 Pro / MacOs 14.7.5.
No problem on a basic Live set, but as soon as I started to use some M4L mapping devices, it became a crash party.

I am using Sequoia 15.4.1 on a M2 Max Mac Studio. These issues have persevered through operating system updates.
I feel my issues appear relate to existing Sets that make extensive use of Max for Live devices.

Not for me unfortunately, no improvement. I did a couple of crash reports and then went back to 12.1.5 for production.

You can install multiple versions at the same time to test, just rename your existing install so it doesn't get written over.
