Re: Retaining automation in clip without automation envelope.

Hi, I think it has to do with the concepts behind "clips" versus "tracks". If I'm reading you correctly, you want the automation to control parameters of a track, and the clips in that track to follow that automation. The thing is, though, automation does not seem to be stored at the "track-level", ...

Re: Help me solve this MIDI riddle

Seems you're already on the right path, so this is perhaps a useless suggestion.. but you triggered my thoughts with this: It would be nice if I could figure out a way to click one or two buttons on the laptop keypad or other MIDI controller to switch the samples that the Nintendo controller trigger...

Re: autofilter glitch?

In addition to Tarekith's suggestion: perhaps you were playing around with the auto-filter, while recording?

Right-click on the "possessed" knob, then choose "show automation". You can then delete the automation (if there).

Re: Midi Out Port 2 no Transmission of Data to Syntheszier

Your screenshot doesn't contain a midi-track. Isn't that what you want, to send events to your external gear? I'd say, add a midi track to your project (ctrl/cmd-shift-T), and from there you should be able to select port 2 from the output-options (click on "No Output"). (The audio, then, is a differ...

Re: Midi Input Delay (More than the basics)

So, nobody at that help desk said something about your sound card?

Because that's what causing the latency. It's audio-related, not midi.

(And your MPK only does midi, not audio)

Could it be that you're using the on-board sound card of your computer?
If so, a real ;) one should fix your problems.

Re: Newbie looking to disable playbutton in control bar

A Live session is kinda meant to start once and then never stop. :) Compare it to listening to an album: the different tracks stop (along the way), but the album doesn't. Same thing goes for Live. That's why the "master play button" stays on when you stop clips. Alright, I/m going to midi map the ST...

Check this..

.. and then use MIDI learn (ctrl/cmd-M) to make the MIDI event (of your kick drum) trigger the next scene.

Re: Workflow question: how do you save cool loops directly from

You're probably not dragging the samples into your personal folder, but the clips containing those samples (hence the extra conversion stuff). Check "current project", under "places" in the project browser. You should then see a folder named "samples", in the window besides it. Fold it open. You can...

Re: Pedal sustain vs hold

Try playing around with the sustain/release of the module/VST playing the string sounds.. the "infinite note" is 100% sustain (decrease this), the "immediate cut" is 0% release (increase this for a fade-out when you release the pedal). That way, you can give the string/pad-sound the same envelope as...

Re: Ableton won't recognise my FCB101

Old post.. So for what it's worth.. (or did you fix the problem already?) I have made sure the in cable is plugged into the out and the out cable is plugged into the in on the foot pedal If you want Live to recognise signals coming from your pedal, you should connect the cable to the "out" of the pe...

Re: I had a vivid dream about a tool for selective mangling

You could apply an LFO to the volume (or filter) of a sound (synced to tempo or not, S&H, up to you) and then use that sound as the source signal for (extreme) side-chain compression on the sound you want to mangle. Tweaking the LFO settings (mostly, the frequency) would be the same as "moving the s...
