afaik you might have dropouts if you do your method - you wont get those if you render the audio.

Hi,
It's more of a specification problem: solo are generally a good tool for, well, soloing a track while you're doing a mix or whatever of the kind. Once you've automated your solos, how are you supposed to use the solo-as-diagnosis feature?
So I guess there are use cases where it still ...

Re: Recording Audio from Youtube?
if you want to do even more: google jackpilot or jack for mac will point you to a nice tool to.
basically what it does is it routes audio from/to applications.

Re: Open Live with clean template
i dont know about the modifier key. a workaround i know about: you could move the template.als from ~/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live x.x.x/ to somewhere else then you will get a plain set.
making it in a shell is maybe just as fast as klicking your way through it

Thanks for your replies:
Posssu - I'm using a Digidesign MBOX , yes it has its own drivers which I will update, but I have the same problem using the Mac's built in Core audio anyway. Thanks Tarekith - I am going to get some more ram, I think my mac can only take 2GB max, which seems a pity, but ...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
i found out that theres an upgrade patch coming with the apc. is there such a thing? if, is it a live7 or live8 upgrade. as i own live7suite and another registration code for live6 the live7 upgrade would be pretty lame.

Re: controller question / moldover-style
Here's a link to my rack that I made for this. Actually this is a combination of that and my old "dj hp/lp filter rack" with automatic high end dip as you sweep through those screaming frequencies towards the top.

Re: Piano key visualizer, shows which MIDI notes are pressed?
How about using just a MIDI Effect Rack?
The Key Zone editor of a MIDI Effect Rack displays which notes are currently being played.
yes, it displays tiny keys as i wrote. its ok, but big ones would be sweet :P
still thanks for trying to help
