Re: ERROR ROUTING METRONOME PLEASE HALP

Can you just use the Focusrite rather than the Aggregate Device? Then you could route the cue out to 3/4 or 5/6 and use the relevant headphone socket on the Focusrite.

Re: délai entre la frappe et le son émis :-(

Bonjour Arnaud, have you tried changing the buffer size? (Sorry I don't know what it is in the French version of Ableton.) This controls how much latency (delay) there is between pressing a key and the sound coming out, and you want it to be maximum 10 or 11ms. Go to Preferences > Audio > Latency an...

Re: Guitar and Bass Tracks Not Synching

Depending on your computer/DAW/audio interface it could be a latency issue or the software not being able to process fast enough. You could try recording the bass without monitoring the guitar, just using the metronome? Or record in Ableton but monitor through your audio interface. We use a Focusrit...

Set up for a live band

Hi all, we've been using Ableton in our live band for about a year now and have kept refining it with every gig until it's totally stable, so I thought I'd share the set up with you. I'm doing it because we've gone through a lot of learning to get to this point and I want to save other people time. ...

Yes, if you edit a scheme you can specify the Automation colour and the Automation grid.

Re: Ableton 10 Themes

I second that about how amazing this site is and also the colour of the track volume in Session View, it's a real pain. It has the same settings as the "Control Fill Handle" so if you edit/create your chosen theme on the site just choose the colour you want the track volume to be and change the Cont...

You're welcome Ruebe, and good luck! Let me know if you have any problems with it, or I haven't explained myself well enough.

Re: click tempo automation

Hi, yes it's possible, I use exactly that in my band. The solution I've found is using a combination of MIDI clip and IAC driver in Session mode: 1. Set up a MIDI channel called "Click", with no input for MIDI from, and set audio out to wherever you want it to go (in-ears?). 2. Using a drum rack, cr...

Re: Playing Live: Mixing Midi Tracks Into Each Other In A Live Environment

Could you have two separate tracks for the AIFFs, so song 1 is on track 1 and song 2 on track 2? Then put the file for song 2 on the scene below song 1 and remove the stop in that scene from song 1. That way when song 1 Is playing and you launch the next scene song 2 will play alongside it. Does tha...

Re: Backing Track Volume ?! -> SPDSX

Are the SPD-SX pads set at a fixed velocity (Dynamics off) or variable depending on how hard you hit the pad (Dynamics on)?

Re: Tips for saving CPU in a large Live set

Hi, could you put the drum racks into a chain and then use dummy clips to turn the drum racks and FX on/off when needed, so your CPU is only handling the ones you're using at that time?

Re: How to launch several clips in Session view with drum rack

Hi, the Yamaha DTX-M12 can send up to four MIDI notes per pad, and you can have the notes sent simultaneously or sequentially. So you could assign four notes to a pad and map those to four clips, and trigger them all with one hit of the pad. The DTX-M12 has 12 pads, and if that isn't enough you can ...

Re: Who uses Live with a live band? What tips can you give me?

Yes happy to do that, I'll put a video together in the next few weeks. In the meantime, I can post some screen grabs. There's quite a lot going on with our set up so I'll do it in stages. Here's what the MBP looks like when we're playing (hopefully this works, it's my first attempt at posting an ima...

Re: Who uses Live with a live band? What tips can you give me?

We are just starting to use Ableton Live in our four-piece band (guitar/bass/drums, all four sing). We use it in Session view on a MacBook Pro and through a Focusrite 18i20 to our PA system. Each song has at least one scene and the drummer controls it using it a Yamaha DTX-M12. AL is multifunction f...
