Hi, i've got a Tascam FW-1804 and have also got a Soundtech lightsnake USB input for recording guitar.

My question is...

is it possible to use these two devices simultaniously? If so how? because i can't seem to figure it out.

What i want is to be able to record an input from the snakelight and ...

yes, i'm sure you can. If i had an mpc though i would probably want to use that for my drum sequencing

any advice on a set of active studio monitors around the 200-300 pounds mark?
They will mainly be used for dance music production

Is it worth another 200 quid and how does Live work with it?

I have put a bit of research into which midi/audio interface i should buy to accompany Live. I require multiple Line ins, a mic input and something for a guitar. My budget is between 200-600 pounds. So far i've come up with the following shortlist and i'm open to other suggestions:

If recording my drum kit i think i would record each hit seperately i.e Kick, snare, closed hh, open hh, tom etc etc

then sequence the beats myself. A lot of people ...

i actually have a trashy drum kit that i might try to record. It's got a nice snappy snare that could sound pretty sweet for hip-hop/dance if recorded right.

I have a Shure sm-58, and also recently ordered an Audio Technica AT 4033a capacitor mic (which is in the post).

I guess you're you suggesting that i sample the records. Sureley there are legal issues regarding this? Iv'e sampled single drum hits like this before but they often are coloured by background synth or whatever, but yes, you've inspired me to look out some old records and get sampling.

I have been having difficulty finding good quality drum samples or kits i can use with Impulse. Can anyone recommend a place that provides good drum samples?
