Re: Launching the next scene automatically
Just a short update for peeps coming back to this post when re-searching this topic:
Since Ableton V11 it is now available to set up automatic Scene Follow Actions BUT selection of Scenes is not automatically following. This could lead to some issues when you want to play always the next scene ...

I can't escape the Search Field
When the focus is on the empty Search Field (blinking orange bar with no text), the [esc] key no longer allows you to escape the field. This bothers me because I can’t use [option + command + B] to quickly hide the Browser.
Has anyone else noticed this little change in Ableton 12?

Using Locators and keyboard (or MIDI) mappings could be a good workaround if you often need to start your song at specific moments.

Re: Easy way to hide/delete unwanted sounds in Library?
On macOS, if you navigate to Music/Ableton/Factory Packs, you can either delete an entire pack or use ‘Show Package Contents’ to select specific files to remove.

Re: How to link efects in diferent tracks
I’m not sure I understand what you are asking for.
If you’re looking for a way to mute and unmute effects across several tracks at the same time, I’d suggest using keyboard or MIDI mappings.

What if you approached the problem from a different perspective by creating a Tag with only the sounds you like?

Re: MIDI Monitoring/Recording
Yes, you’re right. The Ableton description of the Auto setting seems a bit unclear. In Session View, MIDI data pass through the playing clip even when Monitoring is set to Auto, as long as the Arrangement Record Button is disabled.
That being said, I realised I was always using this behaviour. I ...

Re: MIDI Monitoring/Recording
Could you try enabling the Session Record Button while recording?
I believe the behaviour of your track is totally correct. 'Auto' means that MIDI data will pass through as long as no clip is playing. If you want the data to pass through the clip, you also need to be recording in the clip ...

You can also filter incoming MIDI notes.
27.5 Pitch
27.5 Pitch
The Range and Lowest controls act together to define a pitch range through which notes are allowed to pass. Notes outside of the defined pitch range will be blocked, and the effect’s LED light will flash when this happens.

Re: mapping tempo to encoders
What is your MIDI controller?
An endless encoder doesn’t mean endless values. If you’re using a standard 7-bit MIDI controller, there are only 128 values available for a CC. Therefore, I’d suggest constraining the mapping within a range of 128 values. Just as a reminder, you need to map the Coarse ...

Re: separate multiphonic midi track into monophonic parts?
You might be able to find a workaround by using the Pitch MIDI effect, which allows you to filter MIDI data. This approach could work perfectly if your different voices always stay within a fixed range.
Otherwise, I’d consider looking for a M4L device or a MIDI Transformation Tool.

Thank you for sharing, but I think this only covers the basics already available in the manual.
