there are 2 record buttons in the transport at the top of Live. the big black dot is for Arrangement view recording, the circle to the right is session view recording. you might want to read about this in the manual.

I don't think you can set a specific LED colour, but you can adjust the brightness of the LEDs in the Push 3 settings on the status tab.

Unison Audio have some quite shady business practices. Just search for them on YouTube and you will see why.

More importantly, did you get your midi file working by adding an instrument for the midi file to trigger?

are you also adding an instrument on the same track as the midi file for the midi file to trigger? a midi file contains no audio information itself, only note & parameter info for triggering other things.

you can reset live by following these instructions, beware that it resets more than just MIDI connections.

are you using the search function?

Which Live version are you using?
Which audio/midi interface?
etc...
