I solved it. Here is what I did:

I had the NVIDIA Studio driver installed. This is the latest driver from NVIDIA. It installs a display process service. I uninstalled the studio driver, then the physics engine, then the control panel, then I disabled the service in System Configuration. "NVIDIA ...

Yes I see the process but it seems to do very little in terms of cpu.

Tried going back to the default windows update driver that downloads instead of the NVIDIA-site one, didn't have any effect. Still powers on to the logo, appears as a control surface, but the display never updates.

It there a version I should downgrade to? This is a little concerning because AFAIK you need the newest drivers for Windows 10 build 2004 but you think I need the older drivers? I guess I can try it.

I have been using a Push2 without any problems for a while in my setup. Recently I took a break from making music and have come back to find that my Push2 will not connect to Ableton. Here is what I have tried:

- remove Push device in windows

- remove Push control surface in Ableton

- use ...

great idea, would really help when changing octaves.

I've ventured far away from my days of all hardware or all analogue productions. These new tracks are all Push+Ableton; nothing else.

Cool Edit Pro could do this ten years ago; why can't Ableton by now?

I agree, this would be a nice feature, although you could copy the data out of each clip to a new clip. But that is a pain.

When is Ableton going to be able to automate ALL midi controller numbers? I'm talking about CC 96-101, 121-127. These controllers are used on a number of popular pieces of gear (Korg Electribe). In the envelope section of a midi clip, I cannot select controller numbers 96-101. Does anyone know why this might be? I've got devices that use these controllers.
