The Scarlett's input are mono, so you need to feed your stereo singal into two of them: stereo 3.5 to two TS 6.5
Like these: Cordial CFY 0,9 WPP - Thomann UK - They come in other lengths, you need to see which suits your setup. Since it's an unbalanced connection shorter cable runs are better ...

Re: Running system sound through audio interface?
I tried running my computers speaker out into an input on my audio interface. This actually works BUT I get that weird issue where there's no bass or vocals in stuff. Any idea what causes that?
Are you using a stereo adapter (3.5 to 6.5 mm TRS) for that? Then you'd be sending a stereo signal to a ...

Re: Running system sound through audio interface?
Is your 18i8 a 1st or 2nd generation model, latest drivers? Have you talked to Focusrite's support yet?
And are you running any other software that uses ASIO drivers?
It's a 1st gen, the drivers are up to date. Unfortunately they haven't updated them in a while. I've also tried with Asio4All as ...

Re: Running system sound through audio interface?
They do yeah. Sometimes though it will "lock" it and I can't change it in Ableton because it's set in Windows. Other times I can though.chrk wrote:Do your samplerate and bit depth in your Live audio preferences and Windows playback device settings match?

Running system sound through audio interface?
I'm on Windows 10, using a Focusrite 18i8. I've been using it for my system audio as well as ableton audio out. I get a few weird things sometimes. The sound might glitch out, slow down and be come distorted or sound like the bit depth suddenly dropped.
This will usually crash ableton. I have to ...

Re: Minimal bass VST?
I was trying out Operator, it's been a good start. The default A oscillator is a pretty simple bass sound. I was able to add a little bit of grunge to it pretty easily. Definitely a good start, thanks for all the feedback so far. I'll check out simpler tonight.

Re: Minimal bass VST?
Honestly I'm not, I'm starting from scratch. This is kind of a new endeavor for me, partially because its easier to record with synths in an apartment. And partially to try something new.

Minimal bass VST?
New to synths and creating sounds, so I'm not really sure best plugins for doing what yet. I'm curious if there's a specific VST I can use to make simple minimalistic bass sounds with. Something along the lines of (hate to say this) but Postal Service? Something that sounds clean and almost real ...

Re: Help ... controlling drum rack with V-Drum (external MIDI)
What Midi Controller and Hi Hat pad are you using? Are you using electronic sounds or acoustic sounds? Because I never found drum rack to be that great with natural sounds. You'd be better off using a drum VST like EZ Drummer or Addictive Drums.

Ableton just for electronic music?
I was thinking about trying Ableton due to the interesting interface. Does it make sense to use Ableton for a more traditional band setup or just for doing loops and electronic music? I use electronic drums and amplitube for guitars since I live and record in my apartment, but my music tends to be ...

Good Bass VST?
I'm looking for a VST that I can use to make bass lines with a keyboard. Something that sounds simple, like plugging in a bass into an amp. Don't need to many effects. Any suggestions?

Any good compression guides?
Seems like compression is a valuable tool in any music creation. Unfortunately I know very little about it. I've searched around a bit and mostly what I find is articles. While there is alot of information in them, I'm more of a hands on kind of guy. Anyone have any good guides/tutorials on ...
