I mean, you buy Live, get one or to improvements in the app then they change the version number and you've got to fork out more money.
How long was 5 out for Christ's sake and now ...

my 2 cents
I think there's a couple of Ableton templates in the factory set ups that come pre-installed. If not I'm sure they're at the Novation site for download.
They're a good place to start, but after a while you'll probably adapt them to your way of working or create your own from scratch.

The Manual Knoweth
It's all in the manual buddy.
try page 70- exporting audio and page 202- recording automation for starters.
If Delta didn't come with the full manual, go to the downloads page on this site and get the Live 4 Demo version.

Remember to forget
It's all good and well worth knowing as much theory as you can handle. Just remember to forget it sometimes and listen to the sound of what you're hearing, and being aware on more than a theoretical/cerebral level of what you're experiencing.

choosing right sound helps
There's an old saying- 'You can't polish a turd'.
I've spent hours trying to compress, eq etc. a bad sound into a good one until I've realised the only solution is to ditch the sound and source a better one.
In my experience having a good choice of sounds to begin with can save many headaches when ...

it's not bad
Yeah, Melbourne's not bad if you're into:
a/ most vibrant music scene in the country.
b/ best food in the country
c/ best coffee in the country
d/ paying half the rent than you would in Sydney for equivalent dwelling
e/ the only state that had a majority vote in favour of Oz becoming a republic.

I'll be up that way
I'm a breaks artist based in Melbourne.
I'll be heading up to Brizzy on the 17th for a 'holiday' and a gig on the 23rd at a club called 'Milk Bar'.
The night will feature myself (Scrambler) doing a live set using Ableton Live and the Novation Remote 25. Also on the bill are Keltec and Mangan, two ...

use external time compression
on important stuff that doesn't have to be done on the fly I use dedicated time compression progarm like serato pitch and time or even the one in Wavelab, then pull it into Live.
I don't think Live's stength is it's top quality time compression, it's that it's such an intuitive app and can do some ...

hey guys. two things
Two things:
1/ I think the CPU meter in Live relates to the % of resources that have been allocated to Live that are being used, not Live's % usage of overall available resources on your machine. That would explain the difference.
2/ I had Live 4.0 and Live 4.1.1 installed at the same time. Thing ...
