I have a NI Kontrol F1 which I 'd like to link to Ableton for creatine live sets. I also have a Xone K2 to use. Previously using Traktor, but I find the remix deck set up not very good, especially when you also have track decks set up.

i've had a read about the mixer, but are the sliders midi assignable?

it looks like a good all round solution, just need a midi interface.

is there no sound advantages with mac?

ie soundcards etc?

as far as hardware is concerned, il only be lookinga at a UC-33e, midi keyboard and a drum pad like a trigger finger. il be getting a edirol fa-66.

i had all this stuff but had to sell it as i had problems getting it to workwith my PC ...

ye it is actually. my laptop is fucked and can only run with the supply in. even if it wasnt i wudnt like to do a live set relying on battery power!

finally found the time today to try out my FA-66 iv just bought. linked it to my laptop via firewire, then had the Alesis M1's from outputs 1 and 2. but when nothing is playing there is a lot of background noise from the laptop. is there anyway i can stop this?

ok, iv just installed my FA-66. that seems to be working ok. im goin to use ableton for djing so i have the cue channels set to 1and 2 and the master to 2 and 3. just waiting for my cables to come through the post to wire up my active speakers straight from the FA-66.
