It's a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS. Not top of the line I know but it's got in's and out's to use at least.

That depends how you have your pads set up. I believe that you can have them set up to send a note-on, or to send a CC, or to toggle a CC (send alternate values each time it's pressed).
