when you copy a clip to another track and make changes to it within live it is using an alias copy of it.

if you edit the original wav using an audio editor I think the changes would be reflected anywhere ...

if you take a track and apply some plug ins (or send the track to some external processor) and record the result, there is a delay on the audio. the latency controls in the preferences do not affect this. it only affects the monitoring latency.

Like many users, I'd like to see delay compensation as an added feature. It should be available in real time and allow for user assignable + & - delays in milliseconds and MIDI ticks (like Logic and others) per track.
