Amen , those cut off midi notes are driving me crazy too !
Usually I just consolidate the whole midi track and re'edit the cut off notes ... making the whole 'loop' button in midi clips useless

click on last warpmarker , press delete till all warpmarkers are gone , I think you can even select all markers at once

visual basic / java / c# / c++ ... it's dead easy to create a little command line tool that removes all numbers at the start of filenames (could do it for you if you want if it's PC based , don't have any mac compilers sry)

I haven't read the whole thread but all I can say is that I never have been able to go below 10ms latency on my PC using either my old EMI2|6 usb soundcard or my new PCMCIA EMU 1616M. Once a song becomes more heavy even 20 ms won't cut it --> realtime NIGuitar Rig has never been an option for me ...

prolly different loops mapped to a keyboard , with some loops mapped a couple of times with different start/end points

getting sound out of midi track :

--> drag a simpler instrument onto the midi track
--> drag a sample (click / hihat / ...) into the simpler
--> now your miditrack will be played by the simpler instrument and all ...

this simply rocks : it looks stupid but once you touch it you can't let go ... have been strumming for hours yesterday , and it doesn't sound too bad either

1) upgrade your soundcard : higher spec soundcards allow you to reroute everything inside the card

ex. my emu 1616m allows me to redirect everything from directsound (incl GM wavetablesynth) to a new audiochannel in ableton so I can add ableton effects in realtime
