But I think you may have touched on the heart of the issue, with the difference of how Cubase buffers and Live streams directly from the HD.
Considering that these 14 tracks occupy almost 6 gigs on my Lacie.

Here's a little bit of an update.
But first a bit of clairification :wink:

This is not a CPU issue. The cpu % runs in the low teens when running this set.
It's the little red "D" that lights up when it's dropping out.

This piece is not for live performance or anything quite like that ...

Still doesn't answer the concern as to why SX can handle this and live can't....

Why couldn't there be a prefrences option to enable or disable the sends for solo on tracks...
Or better yet, a button on the control bar

Yea it should do it real easy...
Just set up each clip you might have overlap on separate tracks...etc.
map your clips to your keys. and you should be good to go.
Just pay attention to your quantization settings for each clip and your master.
Maybe some other folks have some more direct experience ...
