just recently i've discovered that the master volume on every new set i create in live 7 is mapped to rotary control 2 on my padkontrol. this isn't paticularly a big problem but i'm curious to know what's going on here as i've never made a template and there's no midi to delete in mapping mode ...

hi nick - it's kind of a rustling scraping noise, i guess just my hands on the casing as i'm moving around - wind noise is a problem too but one of those fluffy sock things should sort that out. dr-1 uses an sd memory card so no hard drive noise to worry about - cheers chris.

hi nick - any thoughts on reducing 'handling noise' - i'm using a tascam dr-1 which is otherwise great...

a root around on some mac forums tells me that this a common problem, probably between mac soundcard and the headphone out socket....anyone got any thoughts/solutions on this?

using a new [5 months] white 160gb macbook - squelching/squealing is apparent whether i'm battery or mains,running firefox in the background or not...the noises aren't there when i export completed tracks to i-tunes/desktop wherever.

my white macbook seems to generate a whole load of background noise in live7 - it's kind of a symphony of very high pitched whines and squelching whenever it's performing a task - [eg loading a new instrument/fx whatever] - any ideas on how to fix this or is it just something i'm stuck with?

i do an hour train commute each way to work every day which i usually spend with my nose in the abe manual or looking out the window. i could easily use this tiime working in live but i don't want to chance taking my macbook into work as there's no place to safely leave a laptop.......will any of ...

my band mates don't want to work on any of the stuff they discarded before i joined - there's some great stuff in there especially the first thing they ever recorded in garageband called mr funny which is about eric morecambe's funeral...recycling old ideas is great though - just like a compost heap ...

i need to merge two sets so i can launch a drone consisting of four loops of slide guitar at the end of our final song - however...i've dragged the loops into the library, closed that set and dragged them back out into the song set but when i launch them there's a kind of choppiness/pulsing going on ...

hi - i use jpw gold mini monitors for pretty much everything - making and listening to music ...look nice just painted cream. they turn up for a few quid on e-bay - i run them with a vintage leak tuner/amp for added warmth...

probably a dumb question but can i use more than one midi controller at a time [eg padkontrol to launch loops etc and maybe a keyboard with some rotary controls for tweaking filters/faders etc as well] or will live only let me use one device per scene - thanks in advance for your replies - chris

i'm using a padkontrol with live - when using impulse i can only ever get seven of the eight slots to work -on scene 14 on the korg. all the other scenes even fewer. how do i map impulse to the padkontrol as it doesn't seem to an available option when you click on the midi mapping button - cheers

yup - even a two minute soundcheck would've allowed me to make some quick adjustments but i was shitting myself anyway so there was absolutely no chance to do anything about it. in twenty years of playing drums i never once had to abandon ship mid song...nobody died though and some important lessons ...
