There are surely many different methods, but I recommend this:
1. Find a preset you like in Sylenth1
2. Keep the one you love open, but then open another instance of Sylenth1 with the default preset.
3. Slowly change the settings in the new Sylenth1 so that it looks and sounds like the ...

Have you tried using the Pitch Envelope? It's located in the Pitch shell, i.e., the right-side, 2nd section from bottom.

Maybe try setting the envelope to something like this:
attack: 250ms
initial: -24st
peak: 0 st

Then, in the Pitch Shell set the Pitch Env to 100.

Yeah, I've encountered the same problem many times. Good idea.

Sampler is where I would start, because you can take almost any sample and manipulate the hell out of it. Add some reverb, effects, etc, and you're on the way.
