Re: anybody wants a free midi looper ?
yeah first of all I agree the midi protocol outdated and using the API is the way to go. Unfortunatly most of the external device still communicate via midi. Re: anybody wants a free midi looper ?
you can
1.feed the midi events from your controller in it which are mapped to Live's parameter,
like the frequency of an autofilter. You can loop the controller movements (as well as noteons etc. ->all midi)
while you are performing in session view. Live's native parameters like it's effects ...

Re: Loss of Midi
hi,
I eventually bought live 8
which version is installed? (8.1.1 or 8.1.3 or..)
All of a sudden it just loses the midi signal from the controller
which controller? Is it usb or midi to interface? Which model/company?
The other problem is it just randomly crashing
This depends on the live ...

Re: Routing the chanels of ableton through a external sound card
hi,
open the preferences in live. In the audio settings activate the outputs you want to use for
routing the signals out( 3+4 , 5+6 fi). These outs are now visible in the mixer section of the
audio channels in the 'audio to' drop down menu.

Re: control automation through asigning values?
hi, sorry don't get exactly what you mean..
all the parameters you could automate can be controlled by drwing an envelope or by recording the automation with a midicontroller which has to be assigned to the regarding parameters.

hi,
both the launchpad and the oxygen have a configuration-SW. Oxygen is supported by a software called "Enigma" and for Novation controllers you can use the Automap software. I don't know Enigma but I'd try this one first in order to change the midi-event(automap is awful but i don't know the ...
