Re: Ableton Intro

There are sooo many free VST instruments you can use within Live intro.

Start with some of those if you want some synths, romplers, etc.

Re: Some old Focusrite interfaces are not supported anymore for drivers.

Have your tried installing the drivers in windows 7compatibility mode?
That used to work for my old Echo Audiofire which does not have W8/10 drivers

Re: CV Tools and Moog DFAM -- can't calibrate

Is your audio interface DC coupled?
If not then it is not suitable for sending CV.

Re: Problem playing audio from inside Ableton and the PC/Youtube

I suspect it is a driver issue. Can't remember whether I could or couldn't use ableton + browser with YouTube at the same time (I don't think so) in win XP days. Ableton does work with MME/DirectX for me (RME Babyface or built in soundcard on old laptop). So I don't suspect an Ableton issue. AFAIK e...

Re: First impressions of Live

What I really had in mind (esp for short chord sequences) is a way to e.g. delete 2 bars of where I messed up in the middle of a lot more stuff that was actually OK, and not leave a hole there. I have Sound Forge installed and am going to try to set that up as an external editor. Then the only diff...

Re: Why can't I hear my claps

When you add an instrument to a MIDI track where there already is an instrument it replaces the old one. When you remove the new one then there is no instrument left. So to get the old sound back you have to find the first instrument you used and insert it again. It does make sense to me that live d...

Re: Are clips clones?

In live 10 it should be possible to select multiple clips at once and edit them in one go. Haven't tried it (no need) . https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000840944-Multi-Clip-editing And for audio clips you can edit the audio file destructively in an external audio editor and it would be...

Re: 2 MIDI Controllers, 1 Track

Yes it is.
You can choose 'any midi input' so all controllers trigger that one track. I always forget to change that  so I trigger drums when playing keys (because the drumtrack listens to all input)

Re: Best soundcard to buy?

- Prism Atlas - Ferrofish A32 - Antelope orion 32hd - RME M-32 DA Pro 32 plus the RME M-32 AD Pro Are probably ok for any budget. But on a more serious note. You haven't said what you want to do with it. If portability is a thing I'd say go with the RME Babyface pro. That is bus powered. If you only...

Re: launchpad mini mk3 track volume control

I have launchpad x, there it is a default layout for volume. Tap the session button, choose volume (top button right column) and I get the volume faders for the selected 8 channels. I'd expect this is the same for the mini mk 3

Re: How to make sure all VST effect-signals are cleared at start of track?

Sounds like a nice feature of the Talk (when you want it...) Set the feedback of the Tal to 0 at the end of the first track or at the beginning of the next track. You could do this with automation.

Re: Disable a playing clip (or other) from launching

If you want to play only some clips and not accidentally trigger other clips then I would put them in a separate scene. Remove the stop buttons from the scenes you want to keep playing.

Hope I understood you ok, and that this can help...

Re: automate groove parameters?

If you open the groove pool, you can map the global groove amount (bottom right), but that's it. However, to automate this in a clip, you'll need some M4L magic. I don't think Live does this natively in Session view. It does in Arrangement (look in the automation lane for the master track). I just ...

automate groove parameters?

Hi all I would like to vary the amount of groove applied throughout a track.
Does anybody know how to automate/ modulate the groove parameters?
E.g. : start of the song amount = 0 , build up to 50 % in the 2nd chorus...
