Hi guys,

I run Nuendo with Live 3.x in rewire mode on a PC Dual Opteron. I'm on the bleeding edge with regards to RAM and CPU on many of my projects (film related). Is there any real benefit from upgrading from Live 3.x to Live 5.x when I only intend to use the audio component of Live??

I currently use Live 3 in rewire mode as a slave to Nuendo 3 on a Dual Opteron. Since I use so many VSTIs and plugins in Nuendo, CPU is an issue and I'm running right on the edge with a lot of my projects using Live 3.

My question is: would Live 5 give me more of a CPU hit than Live 3 ...

I think the most elegant solution would be to have little numeric tempo displays in the wave window BETWEEN each marker you create. Maybe the top of the window left-justified.

never mind... I figured it out..
I t turns out that my 3 Midex 8s were listed differently in Live than in Nuendo... so I was selecting the wrong Midex for my controller input.

I have used Live for years on the Mac and Cubase VST but recently I switched to Nuendo on the PC. I still use Live slaved to Nuendo 2.2.035 but I am unable to assign midi controllers to Live.

Did I miss something?? Isn't there a way to do this??

What they meant was (for example): instead of double clicking on a track name (to rename it) you have to select the track and then use a key command to actually rename the track. Double clicking to rename things is a Mac-like convention that is consistant form one application to the next except ...

You guys got a 4.5 out of five in the latest Mac World magazine.... mostly great things to say... the only complaints were: "no index in manual; the interface is sometimes not Mac-like."

Again Alex.... Thanks for all the great work and support. I'm not even considereing OS X yet because Live slave mode isn't working. That's how much I now depond on Live.... for a living. That... and one day Steinberg will get their crap together and Nuendo 2.0 will wwork the way it's supposed to ...
