Hey all,

You got it right. The updates to Operator are contained in Live 8, so once you upgrade you get the "new" Operator too if you already have it in Live 7.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Hans,

Exact same sample length, not only durration. If you want to work with files that don't have the exact same number of samples, you can quickly grab a region that you'd like to edit and consoloidate them (ctrl or Apple + J). Then the last clip you click on will be the one you view and you ...

that's not the way I understand it. I haven't seen it either but we'll all know soon enough. The main point is that Simpler is not a multi-sampler / layer player though. that much I'm sure of.

From my understanding, this isn't a new format that Live supports, its just some encoding of the samples ...

Hi there,

Simpler can read the multi-samples of the EIC because its encoded a certain way (like a DAT file). Simpler is still a single layer (one sample at a time) for user authoring.

Sampler supports multi-samples (imported or building your own).

hope this is helpful.

On Triggerfinger, preset 10 works great for Impulse, preset 16 is chromatic and works great for simpler / operator or other synths.
