hmm...

I stopped using Reason the instant that Live got MIDI capabilities. In my experience, Reason demonstrates a characteristic tonal quality that betrays its emulationary genesis. (tin-can alias-digital fluffer-nut)

For instance: The Beastie Boys used Reason to compose the entirety of "To the Five ...

good trick...

That's a good one. One would have to be terribly certain of the super-coolness of the groove to dedicate the master tempo though! I've grown accustomed to individually grooving each clip; I can hardly imagine the alternative.

To be clear: all other clips (as opposed to discreet instances used to ...

actually...

actually, I often save files and find that upon bring the clips into a new live set, the warp settings are not present. It seems to happen maybe 30% of the clips only, so it is very confusing and frustrating. I have ALWAYS had this problem. Any such experiences?

I've enjoyed the refresher on Nyquist. But back to the original issue about the AutoFilter, I'm surprised no one has suggested sending everything through the sends only and giving one send a clean signal to mix with the AutoFilter send. Works for me. I couldn't tolerate sending my whole signal ...

- Compressor II
- Sonic Maximizer w/ moderate to low settings

I'm still suspicious of the Maximizer. I like the sound that it produces, but it changes the sound so much I don't want to get used to it. Anyone have any experience or bias about this one way or the other?

Ableton has pitched Live as the best live mixing/looping performance tool available and should keep up the good work by making all functions accessable from exernal midi control.[/quote]

I also have some features from the clip looping menu I would like to see available for MIDI. I have found that ...

I personally would rather see all tracks resizable, but still uniform. The greatness of Live is in its simple unclutteredness. I find in Arrange view, resizing tracks can get a little distracting. Looking at a session view with all different sizes also would give a different presentation and ...

indeed

so true. I just mentioned it because I'm glad that with 4 no one will be able to exclude Live from the big relevant DP; Logic; ProTools list of DAWs anymore.

I was shocked to hear it reported here that Macs run live some 30% ( I think that was the figure) less efficiently than PC. I am also ...

"Live is all I need in a DAW."

I don't think Live 3 was a DAW. Not to be a prick; I only mention that because I believe that with the inclusion of MIDI sequencing and editing that live 4 IS finally a DAW technically.

Digital Audio Workstation. What's that got to do with MIDI?

M-Audio driver problems anyone?

I have a Radium and I often have to restart my powerbook Tibook Ghz in order to get it recognized in Live or Reason. According to M-audio this is a compatibility issue between Panther and M-audio drivers. Has anyone had similar experience, or heard any good news on fixing this? I'm especially ...

One who wanted to encourage such banter would be correct in calling you a jerk sir.

I am a little more kind however, so I will defer to simply informing you that such discourse is inappropriate, even if it IS in binary code. BE NICE and maybe YOU would be more credible. My G4 Ghz Powerbook CAN run ...

still waiting on my fixer (I think)

Boy. I am glad to see how on the ball Ableton is. This looks like a great update. I wish ableton and Version tracker had better communication though. 2.02 STILL isn't on there, and when 2.0 is released I was the one who told VT about it.

I think maybe my issue is still at large though. I don't know ...
