Re: Quality
Thank God for this. I was so tired of hearing I am in the minority suffering from all of these bugs in Live when everyone I speak to has been suffering from similar issues. Best of luck working out the kinks in 8, Ableton! I look forward to getting back to 7's stability.

Re: The Not Enough Memory Issue
I've just started using Live 8 and I'm having this issue.
Started today, it happens consistently after running Live for a while (maybe > 1 hour) and saving often.
I'm using no clips and no samples, but I do have three Loopers going, plus a lot of keystroke and midi mappings. I'm sync'd to a ...

8.05 is pretty crashy for me. Which is weird, since the betas were mostly fine.

EQ and compression (in this order)
I think you mean compression and then EQ.
ahhhh how many times have i seen that dibate :)
There's nothing to debate. If you want to cut something pre-compression so the compressor doesn't act on it, thus maximizing the amount of compression on the frequencies ...

that's what I call good advice..
My impression was that it would crash randomly, people say that ALL THE TIME.. but you are probably right.
I'll bet some of them are getting crashes on a cracked version and still want to come here for help thinking it's the program.

Re: I want stability..
I recommend doing yourself a favor and personally check the stability of Live 8 first.
The forum is by not a reliable indicator for this.
Who knows if Live 7 may lead to problems on your setup, that are fixed in 8?
Cheers,

Right. Have you ever 'actually' DJ'd with the APC?
Please tell me how you would fade one track into another using a 3-4 band EQ for each track. Also make sure to include how many times you have to switch banks in order to adjust another tracks EQ, and how you would adjust each tracks eqs ...

Huh? You've got 4 banks of 8 knobs up top plus the automap knobs, plus the cue level knob. It has plenty of knobs.timothyallan wrote:Not enough knobs to make a good 'dj' controller.

Re: Weakass Track...
Do you have decent monitors? That might help you hear what's wrong with your tracks prior to playing them out. Not having the tracks mastered (i.e. they're still quiet volume) is an issue too, yeah. Also make sure nothing is clipping, particularly on the master channel.

If I could code my own I wouldn't have spent all of this money on a piece of software that crashes several times a day on me, and that I don't trust to use in a performance situation.ewistrand wrote: If you can do it better, code your own.
