[Posting here because I found this thread while trying to work this out myself]
I see this too from time to time and it had been driving me mad. I think it is related to there being a loop active in the arrange view.
If you are working on a 4 bar loop in session mode but the arrange page is ...

Alternate Note mode with drum rack
Hi,
I am not sure if I just saw a bug or a "hidden" feature.
When using a drum rack in Note mode I got into a state where the Note button was blinking and the pads of the drum rack were playing a single assigned sample but at different pitches rather than the assigned single pitch. Pressing Note ...

Re: Some Drum racks load as instruments?
The ones I have seen are drum racks plus effects. Quite a lot of these in add on packs.
I haven't found one that I couldn't remove the outer intstrument rack from without losing features. It's a minor hassle but saving the altered preset doesn't create multiple sample copies if the samples are ...

Hi! all
Would like to use with my new Push with my apc40. For now I can shoot clips on my apc disconnecting the "select clip at launch" option in the Live preferences.
But I can not use my apc to tweek sounds while "pushing" notes in other traks. (Arrgh)

Re: When I hold User, what does the 'Workflow' parameter do?
well, here's the problem: the manual linked above is NOT the same manual that opens within live.
In the link above, section 27.10 is Setting User Preferences, which goes into all this. In the document that opens when i open the manual from within lives 'read the manual' help option, section 27.10 ...

Re: Browser instrument name display
I think I get a mix. Some fx and racks get a compact name with some letters missing and others just truncate. I'll try and find an example and update as I don't have it open at hand right now.

Re: When I hold User, what does the 'Workflow' parameter do?
It's explained in the manual
Sorry, either I am looking in the wrong place or we have different manuals. mine says:
User — All of Push’s built-in functionality can be disabled via User Mode. This allows Push to be reprogrammed to control alternate functions in Live or other software.

I knew it had to be something like that. Think you made a typo.
It's actually shift+add effect.
Cheers

how to change the order of effects on a track?
Quick question.
If I use 'add effect' to place a new audio effect onto a track can I select where in the chain it will go?
Either at insertion time or later after adding more effects.
For example if I add a limiter I will generally want to keep it at the end of the chain. As far as I can tell the ...

Re: How to wrap a Live audio effect in a M4L patch?
Thanks.
@ShelLuser: This was pretty much the conclusion I had come to although the specific patch I have in mind needs to have feedback to the start of the chain so I would need to send the audio back to the first device. It might make the effect a little bit latency prone. Guess I'll just give it a ...

How to wrap a Live audio effect in a M4L patch?
Hi,
I would like to use Live audio devices - for example reverb - as a signal processing unit inside a M4L patch. I know I can do this with plugins using the vst~ object but is it possible to do the same thing with native Live devices?
thanks
Rick

Re: Max Midi Effect - how to use more than one channel?
what exactly do you want to do?
I may not understand.
I was trying to create a custom object to accept midi messages from 4 layers of a Tenori-On in score mode to use as gate triggers for a multiband dynamic gate effect. I have it working already using 4 midi channels that fire a hihat and ...

Re: Delete a midi note?
I think you will either have to sacrifice a velocity value - like 001 for example - or use a CC number to do it.

Thanks for the answers... This is a bit of a bitch when added to Audio FX not being able to receive Midi either.

Max Midi Effect - how to use more than one channel?
Inside a max midi effect I see the reported midi channel of a xnotein (or for that matter any midi object) is always channel 1. This is true even if the parent Live track is set to only listen to midi incoming on channel 2.
I was hoping to use a single live track to monitor midi on all channels ...
