I believe the correct term is "That fucking orange dot."

Well, since I reverted to Live 4, I don't feel so strongly about it. It's been downgraded to 'that darn orange dot'

I am dreaming wistfully of the freeze function, however...but then, I spent too much time dinking with plugins anynow :)

Live 5 appears to be headed that direction...the insidious orange dot is the bane of recordists.

Revert isnt always lit....and when it does work, it only lasts until the next time I play the clip...then the dot comes back. It's maddening!

I am vinyl junkie, and am ecstatic that Live now works more like vinyl


I am having no erratic clip behavior, but I am having fun mixing tracks on Live. Up until this version I would not play longer tracks in Live.

Maybe thats why I just cant grasp this thing ...

...and when used in the arrange page it's fucking magical.....the whole arrange stays with you when you click on the clip view....(this was what triggered my understanding - it's all about 'global' time).

To me, the interface is one of the best things about Live. 3d controls can be nice looking, but the extra detail doesn't really tell the user anything once they learn the graphical vocabulary of the system.

Well, so much for that...the revert button does clear the dot...until i restart the clip. Then the dot comes back. Interestingly enough, it also ends my loop halfway to the orange dot...whereas it used to end the loop at the orange dot.

Mind, the regular loop markers are placed correctly...they are ...

The orange dot, in my case, was representing where the clip ends, not where it starts. Maybe you should RTFM.

Seriously though...how do you make this go away after accidentally activating it?

I have one that triggers in the middle of a clip, so half the clip gets played. I just want it GONE so that i can play the whole clip.

There must be somebody that gets use out of it, but I'm also too stupid to understand it. I would love a setting that just MADE IT GO AWAY!

I just did a test recording the metronome...not only are the recordings drifting to the right, they also vary between beats by about .25ms.

I am going crazy over this....each time I record the waveform to perform the latency compensation, my recorded waveform drifts a little farther to the right. I don't change anything between recordings...it just drifts inexorably righwards on its own. This makes the entire expensive rig useless for ...
