Choke Groups on Clips in different tracks?
Is there any way to do this?
I know it's possible with Drum Racks but using clips is a lot more accessible/immediate with a Launchpad...
Big thanks if anyone knows!

Re: making sounds sound close or far?
doppler effect is just (downwards) pitch shifting and panning
automation of reverb can add realism too
and also try eq/filtering, taking out more frequencies the further away something is...

Key / midi mappable solo / mute buttons on rack units.
Either that or some sort of solo grouping that allows independent switching between collections of intruments.
It's not a big change but would open up a world of possibilities for use as a live instrument bank!

Re: SWing ur kick
I've done garage tunes that are pretty much triplets, with the kick being swung and they get played out no problem. Depends on the genre/skill of the DJs really.

Re: music theory for techno!
elements have to "balance". i.e. thumping kicks need to be offset by piercing hats and everything in between needs to FLOW. think of writing rhythms like melodies, i.e. with continuity and direction.

Solo Grouping?
Basically I want to be able to switch between instruments at the touch of a button in 3 or so discreet groups.
IE, I have 3 midi tracks, each with a rack of 5 samplers, I want to be able to solo samplers in each rack without affecting the other racks, with a button/keystroke. For some reason(!), the ...

A/B comparisons with well leveled tracks can help a lot, even if it spectrograms instead of audiable sound.

Overriding Default Ableton 8 Key Commands (OSX)?
Anyone know of a way to do this?
EG, removing the spacebar = play functionality and reasiging it?
Specifically I want to reasign the command that enters notes in "Step Record" mode, as I'm trying to find a way to devise a step-sequencer style controller using a qwerty keyboard and a hotkey app.
