Re: The document "x.als" appears to be corrupt

Hello - hope someone still is listening to this post. I had the same problem, but cannot find the preferences.cfg file to delete it. Where would this be located? I found a project.cfg but that was all...

Configuring MOTU Firewire Audio with Live 7

I have an older MOTU 828 Mk1 that is connected via lightpipes to a Yamaha 01V96V2 board. I am hoping to use the MOTU to send different tracks on Live to different channels on the board. The interface shows up in Live's preferences, but it looks like I can only select one stereo output (MOTU 1&2 DX ...

Glitching at locator

In arrangement view, occasionally when I click a locator, the audio hiccups about a tenth of a second of playback), then stops briefly, and starts again. I have consolidated all audio tracks to eliminate warping drain on the CPU. I actually have my locators set about 10 milliseconds before the audio ...

Re: Patch Change Events on Live

OK I'll try to post some images here. I import midi and audio into arrangement view to create a 60 song master set with a 10 second pause between each one, and launch each song live using locators:

Posting Images - does Ableton provide image server space?

I can't embed images with my posts, and don't have a PC set up as a server. Does Ableton provide server space for this?

Re: Patch Change Events on Live

hi - old thread, new question. When patch changing external hardware synths and FX units, I have several clips back to back in arrangement view to change back and forth between various patches, Can I select a series of clips and freeze, consolidate or flatten them into one clip that retains the ...

Re: Ableton Live 8 importing MIDI pgm changes incorrectly

Is there a way to merge or consolidate several patch changes into one clip so they can be used easier in session view? Some of my midi tracks have upwards of 20 patch changes per song - a real bother to move around...

Re: Merge midi clips

I use entire MIDI tracks to change patches on my Eventide units in th emiddle of songs. When I consolidate them, they retain only the first patch change command, and lose the subsequent ones. I need to get these tracks consolidated so they dont import to sennion view as a whole stack of patch change ...

Importing MIDI to Live 7 Arrangement View

WHen I import a MIDI track with patch changes in the middle anywhere, they are not recognized, and the track keeps the first program change only. I need to 'stack' tracks occasionally and play different patches at different points in the song. For live applications, this means changing the patch for ...

Launchpad and Arrangement View

Does anyone know yet whether the Launchpad will be able to trigger locators in the Arrangment View of Live 7 or 8? I hate using a trackball to launch songs!

Understanding session view a bit better???

I use Live 8 in Arrangement view for performance every weekend - works great. I have about 50 songs, mostly MIDI with a few audio tracks in each, laid out alphabetically in arrangment view, with about 20 seconde between them, each with a locator to 'quick start' any song at any time. I still don't ...

Re: Live 7 timing sync override??

Actually I was playing around, and figured out that if I change the time signature to 1/16 or so at the end of each song for the duration of the 20 seconds or so until the next (when it reverts to 4/4), it will zip to the locator I clicked on within a sixteenth note - much quicker...thanks for your ...

Live 7 timing sync override??

I have about 200 midi files back to back in arrangement view with about 15 seconds between each one. Each has a locator at its beginning to jump to it at any time. After one song is finished, and I click on the locator of the next song I want to do, Live waits for the end of the curent measure ...
