I was a Pluck U junkie back in the early 90's. It certainly didn't help that I lived 2 blocks away from the place. I've always preferred them over Atomic.

I travelled with a circus for 3 years in the early 90's. Lived in a very tiny trailer but managed to bring along my Ensoniq EPS 16+ for late night recording sessions. Good times.

The iTunes music store has several acapellas to download. Just search for "acapella" and look for songs with (acapella) after the title. Jay-Z's entire black album acapellas are on the iTMS.

Ummm... actually, that's exactly what he did years ago that got his ass fired by his own company. Don't you remember Jobs' refusal to follow the PC "clone" strategy? He didn't want to allow other companies to clone Apples.... a decision which ultimately cost Apple market share, and therefore ...

Just thought I'd chime in and confirm what everyone els is saying. Creating drum tracks in Live using a v-drum kit is a blast... and pretty simple after you get the hang of assigning pads to the Impulse. It's also simple to use the pads to trigger clips, loops, and samples.

You would think the folks at Ableton might be a bit concerned about the way the forums are looking these days. The general tone around here makes Live users look like a bunch of immature school kids... not a good reflection on the product or company. I'm really glad that the forums didn't look like ...

You can't go wrong using an old TV show name:

DJ Diff'rent Strokes
DJ Who's the Boss
DJ What's Happening
DJ Prisioner
DJ Match Game
etc.

I run Live 5 on a mini and it works quite well (1gb RAM is a must), but if I had it to do over again, I'd probably buy a G5 iMac... I don't like seeing my CPU meter go over 50%.

I can run Live 5 on my 5-year-old "Pismo" Powerbook (G3/400Mhz, 512mb). Of course, things start to bog down with a couple of midi instruments running, too many effects, or complex warping. Freeze helps.
