i sold my Akai APC 40 and still got the package apC-CL1+TC1 from nativeKONTROL. I would sell it for 15 Euro. The Price was 35 USD.

i had a mpd18 and was quite happy with. it its solid build, has note repeat and the responds is ok

than i was testing the padkontrol and throwed my mpd away (selled it).
the responds of the pads is much better in my view and the feedback responds works great with midi notes if you send it back to ...

Shift User Mode 1 , 2 and 3 looks interessting to me. apc 40 dont got this? and who will need vol if have volume faders? how will it work

hm "note display type" is just another display kind of the editor

sync got no matter just if you want sync ableton with the internal midi clock of the mpd18 so only "track" and "remote" the mpd18
and try to chose the preset 1 of pad1 the chromatic one and midi channel 1 if this not helping i got no ...

did you chose mpd 18 or mpd 24 in your control surface settings? of ableton? and use pad bank A
