Re: Maschine question
Ah - so it sounds like when I save the sound, which is a .msnd file, it doesnt preserve all of that slice point and mapping info. If that is the case, what do you actually get when you save a sound and how is that different than the .wav you imported?
Thanks for the response.

Maschine question
I posted this on the NI Maschine forum and havent really gotten any responses. Hopefully somebody here can help:
Newbie here.
I imporated a sample into Maschine. I then sliced it, removed a few of the slices and mapped the rest to convenient (but out of order) pads. I then saved the sound ...

Re: Question on current generation laptop's built in audio card
I have a Focusrite Saffire USB 6 on my desktop. Seems big to cart around with a laptop. What's a good small footprint sound card when i/o isnt a priority?

Re: Question on current generation laptop's built in audio card
I don't perform, but I do like to have low latency recording vsts as I play with my keyboard. Or playing back a song with several midi tracks hosting vsts.

Question on current generation laptop's built in audio card
I'm shopping for a laptop - it will be a win 7 x64 laptop. I don't do hardly any recording - if anything, just the random sample here and there. I'd probably do all of my monitoring via headphones. It will likely be an i5 or i7 with 8G RAM and a fast hard drive. Are the current generation laptops's ...

Re: Multitimbral instruments in Live
Interesting. I may try the one instance per track. The one thing I dont like about the single vst is that managing the vst window becomes cumbersome when you have a bunch of track linked to it. It's not always up when I want it to be even when workign on a track sending midi to it, and I have to ...

Re: Multitimbral instruments in Live
Hey M - thanks for the reply - was just curious how other people work this. Curious- do you also group your tracks for a multi instrument? I havent found any good reason to, but was curious what others discovered.

Q on drawing notes into the midi grid
If I have the midi-grid set to, say, 1/16 notes and I want to draw in an 8th note - is there a shortcut way of doing this without changing the grid to 1/8? I know I can deactivate the grid (ALT?) but then the note won't snap to a complete 8th note. So, is there a way to draw a single note that is a ...

Re: Multitimbral instruments in Live
Curious - when setting up Kontakt multi-timbral using the External Instrument. I usually put the plugin on one track (without any midi input) and separate out the various instrument inputs to other tracks. I've found that Kontakt stereo 1-2 ALWAYS maps to the track that the plug-in is inserted on ...

Re: Kore 2 - things to know before purchase
I'm considering the Kore 2 deal also. Curious - is it feeling rather outdated yet? It lists the Kontakt 2 engine, for example, which is pretty old.

Suggestions for sample library browser
I'm starting to record a lot of samples, most of which are not used in a current project. I want to be able to mark these samples with metadata (notes, tags, keywords) and then be able to search them quickly for use in future projects and good organization. Can anybody suggest a good sample browser ...

Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
Curious - is connecting via an ad-hoc wireless network the ONLY option? I have a desktop PC running Windows 7 that is hard wired via ethernet cable to my wireless router. If I bought this - what is the recommended way for me to connect touchable and my pc?
