I have live 6.

For some reason the bpm function just is not working accurately!

I make house music at around 128 - 130 typically, but to get it to actually play that speed i have to enter the ableton bpm at like 140.

I have a macbook and live 6.0.11.

Whats happening is, say i am working on a song and i close the lid on my laptop, when i re-open the lid, the sound does not work! Even when i try and watch a youtube video or play anything with sound, the sound just does not work.

I am not sure if this a computer ...

I chopped up some samples and i dragged a kick, snare and a hat from an audio loop into an empty impulse rack. I then saved the rack. I closed the project that i am working on, and when i re-opened it this morning it said the samples are missing.......why is this?

I have a 2 bar part of a chorus that im trying to match up to my song tempo of 130bpm. The first bar is slightly off beat but by the time it gets to the end of the vocal clip its perfectly in time.

Do any of you ableton users know if there is a way that i can just move those warping ...

I have downloaded the SSS compressor which allows sidechaining.

I put the compressor in its own channel. I send both the kick and the bassline to this channel. I can then hear it sidechaining -'pumping', but then the kick disappears from the master channel?

What am i doing wrong?

hmm it still says 1 bar..... even when i put it on 2 bars for example....when the green little arrow stopped flashing to begin the loop on time...it still did not start on time.......

they seem to be affecting my bass synth occasionally..........

For some reason, when ever i click on a new loop in the scene view (e.g a hihat) is no longer starts perfectly on time. When i used to hit the little play button just prior to the beginning of the loop it would wait a second and then start perfectly on time.

Now when i hit play the new loop starts ...

Now i realise the compressors in live 6 only have a built in sidechain. But users of version 6, how do i sidechain my basslines in the more tradional way where i can use ratio's, thresholds, attack, release etc to make the bassline pulse?

Is it possible to record vocals into live version 6?

Im about to convert to the ableton live side!

I have the opportunity to buy live version 6 at a good price.
What i would like to know, is the difference between 6, and 7 and 8 huge, or can i still do really good productions in version 6?
