Are you plugging your audio interface directly in to the computer? don't use a USB hub. Try using another USB cable as if you're using an unshielded USB cable, or a USB hub with an unshielded cable, you can get interference.

buy a USB MIDI controller that comes with a free version of Live, that's better than buying just Live Lite.

hm, i suppose most MIDI devices these days have USB options as well, i don't think i ever used the midi ports on my UA EX 25. I suppose it depends what you're using. I had a NI audio 2, once, and it didn't have the outputs I wanted at the time, i can't remember why... check the outputs to make sure ...

Session view holds the key.

One hint: An easy way of getting a click track and a (mono) audio output is to put all of the song into the left channel, and then put the click track on the right channel. (this is also useful when DJing)
