Is this to play live with or for a recording? If recording, the workaround would be to record each section as a seperate piece. Render each and then pull them back in a new session with no warping.

The best and clearest book I've since on Mixing is

"The Mixing Engineers Handbook" by Bobby Owsinski (MixBooks)

Great info on EQ, FX, Compression and interviews with engineers

ALSO, an entire section on Surround Sound mixing

I believe you have to load it on each track if you want 2 different sounds at the same time. You would then assign each track to a different MIDI channel. If you want to use 1 instance and make a program change, then you can do it on just one track. I don't have Hypersonic but I don't think it would ...

Ahhhh let me revise

Each track has:

- background with melody
- background no/melody
- MIDI no melody

Some is transposing a track to different keys, but I've found it's better to record individual parts in each key I need rather than warp. No artifacts that way, cleaner sound-especially on real ...

Thanks Amo!! (especially for the quick reply)

Produce/Arrange/Mix

Typically 1-2 minute play-alongs

I've done this for 20 years so I can turn out high quality tracks fast in any style

No time for writers block or overthinking parts here

SAVE AS MP3 in Live 5

Still working with Live 4.1.3. I'll let you folks work out the bugs before I upgrade. I finish about 200 tracks a week and don't have time for bugs.

Question

I know you can import MP3 files. Is MP3 a save as option in LIVE 5?

If so, I may have to get it soooner than planned.

Thanks for your help.

Each Midi clip can have it's own program (and even bank) change.

Go to the NOTES box and you can set Bank, Sub-Bank and Program for every Midi clip.

Most controllers should be able to send program changes for live playing also

You could also try one of the Oli Larkin plug-ins at KVR (Endless Tone, Endless Flage or Endless Phaser)

http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1218.html

They produce that always moving up FX.

Both of those work great for what I need. Thanks a lot guys. Gating using Audio as the rhythmic source would be great too. I've heard some really good examples of that from Kyma. Not sure how you would do that in Live.

Gated FX in Live 4.1.3

I am trying to figure out how to get a gated rhythmic FX in Live. IN other words, running a rhythmic part through a gate to control the rhythm of another track. Any ideas? I searched the boards and did not find anything in the 1st few pages. I apologize if this has already been covered earlier.
