Re: Polyrythms running tracks simultaneously at different tempos

One example is: Let’s say you want 5 notes equally divided in a bar. You could make a midi clip longer than 5 eighth notes. Maybe 8 eight notes. Draw ‘reference my notes in five of those eighth notes. These shouldn’t be notes you intend to be in your melody. (Maybe even turn them ‘off’) Then draw yo...

Re: Midi out of Midi track turns into Audio Out?

I was curious about the functionality of the editor and ended up at this video which seems to show it working in a specific way. Settings shown at 4:08. If it works as he demonstrates, then I’m not sure what the problem is. If you’re trying to do something slightly different than shown, you might ha...

Re: Midi out of Midi track turns into Audio Out?

Try making a new midi channel. Have midi From be the channel with minitaur editor in it. There might then be a second dropdown to select the editor plugin specifically.

Set midi Out to your synth.

I don’t have this plugin. Just a guess.

Re: 2015 Macbook Pro 13" and Ableton Live 10

I’m starting to wonder if we should have a Mac spec questions part of the forum so that it’s all in a convenient location, and so it doesn’t constantly clutter all the other areas. I see this stuff asked almost daily, and I’m sure there is someone who asked this last week or last month or whatever. ...

Re: How to Edit midi map for instruments separately

The ‘blue hand’ I am speaking of is actually different from the blue overlay from Midi Mapping. You are doing midi mapping which directly assigns a control to always be controlled by what you’re mapping it to. Instead, remove all the mappings for your 8 knobs. In the vst ‘configure’ box, you can mov...

Re: How to Edit midi map for instruments separately

There are a few kinds of mapping. Control surface mapping automatically gives you control of the first 8 parameters you make available in the vst ‘Configure’ panel, or it also allows the use of Banks. Control Surface or ‘blue hand’ mapping (a blue hand appears on the bar of whatever device you’re cu...

Re: Ableton + Launchpad Midi Conflict Issue

Do you do any actual midi mapping of the launch pads? If you do, do you rely on any LED feedback when you do the mapping? If no to either of those, you an turn off the Output for Remote from Live in the midi preferences. The upper portion in midi preferences is what gives the launch pads their expec...

Re: Audio live playback while recording

Do you have any clips playing on that same channel while you are recording? Monitor In instead of Auto would be the workaround for that specific channel, otherwise you’d have to move some things around or check what is and isn’t happening. Are you using dummy clips or something?

Re: changing between presets with MIDI messages or keyboard shortcuts

If you create a new empty midi channel you can route the midi to the channel Guitar Rig is in, and in the dropdown below you can select GR specifically. Then guitar rig will respond to Program Change sent in that empty midi channel. I created unquantized clips with program change messages and trigge...

Re: Answering Machine

A phone ‘effect’ might be great for testing your track... though I’m sure you already have ways to test it over a real phone? Many phone connections are garbled by audio compression (not dynamic compression but file/stream/data compression) that prioritizes speech. So as mentioned above, keep this i...

Re: Beginner : what to buy for very first steps?

An audio interface will make it a lot easier to plug things that you want to record in. There are maaaany many interfaces out there. And lots of features to decide on. In a number of cases, even mixers can act as audio interfaces. I’ll drop a quick recommendation. And it won’t have had a lot of thou...

Re: How can I set the range of my M-audio Sustain pedal in my Ableton live lite

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘range’. A pedal is either on or off. The pedal is plugged into something that will take the on or off and change it to code. Whatever the pedal is plugged into will probably use cc 64 and have a zero and some other number, maybe 127, and switch between those when you p...

Re: The Forum needs a new subforum: "Help & Troubleshooting"

Funny thing for me is, when I first started using the forum, UHE was the primary area I would go to. I’d occasionally check out the production one to see if there was any excitement, but I mostly just liked helping people get un-stuck so they could understand the software better and move forward. Wh...

Re: 2019 i9 using twice as much CPU as five year old MacBook Pro i7?

Power resources on Windows is often a big issue. You need to make sure that your CPU is set to be 100% available when you’re using Live. There is a power profile setting which allows you to change power profiles on Windows. If your CPU is set to conserve power, it’ll often times be conserving and wh...
