Re: midi sound abruptly ends

There are a lot of different factors to consider with this. One is to see if it’s just Kontakt where you are having this issue, or if this issue also happens with other drum instruments like Drum Racks. Also, within Kontakt to see if you have this issue with only one particular preset, or if this ha...

Re: Changing speed of clip without warp markers?

You can chance speed by changing the pitch unwarped, but I have a feeling that changing the pitch would make it not ideal for practicing an instrument. Warping is what you need to do. And in this case it’s pretty simple once you have the method sorted out. I feel like you were actually pretty close....

Re: Ableton 11 and Sustain Pedal causing CPU Spike

Well, if you make a simple device that sends Sustain Off at the press of a button, and put it inside each chain, before each instrument,

You can map that Button to the same macro that does chain select. You could probably even do an all notes off command on that same button.

Re: Ableton 11 and Sustain Pedal causing CPU Spike

If you switch back to it and press and depress sustain, it will no longer be forever. When you switch away from that instrument, you’re stopping all midi from being sent to it. Sustain has a midi code for on and a midi code for off. When you’re at the instrument and set the code to on, then switch t...

Re: Setting up a virtual MIDI network

It’s been a while for me. It in my experience midi over a network on Windows can be frustrating. I seem to recall using an rtp midi program back in the day. I don’t want to pretend like buying random gear is a pleasant and accessible option for people but I do have a suggestion that I do find to be ...

Re: Count-in for every clip

Also keep in mind that there is One more method that I love using. You can either be playing along or just have it stopped and play your idea. Then hit the ‘Capture’ button on the top. Instead of recording the idea, it just takes your last attempt at playing along and turns it into a clip without th...

Re: Sampler: assign many samples, each to single key?

Sampler has an option to distribute those samples evenly. You were very close when you loaded them all in. It might require selecting all their names on the left, and a right click to open the context menu. But it’s been a while. There are likely videos on YouTube or a mention in the Instrument Refe...

Re: Count-in for every clip

Either hit stop, and then do the count in, or adapt to the method of doing it while clips are playing.

Takes a little practice and wrapping your head around it, but trying to have it both ways starts verging on Live either becoming psychic or bending the fabric of time and space.

Re: Midi Keyboard Velocity Input W/O Recording

Possibly Step Recording.

It’s done by activating the monitoring icon in notes view and using the arrow keys (which can be midi mapped).

Re: Metronomic imperfection: how to make scene transitions sound more organic

I don’t have a perfect solution for you but I might have a close compromise to offer. If I recall, Live has some tempo nudge buttons, for slowing down or speeding up the set. The bar buttons between your tempo and the time signature. Holding one of those can speed up or slow down Live’s tempo. Tappi...

Re: USING 9 upgrading to 11 with 10 20% off deal

There is an upgrade discount. Later, there may or may not be an upgrade discount. Will they raise or lower the price after 11 is launched? I do not know. I doubt they’d lower it. It could stay the same. If you intend to buy 11. I’m pretty sure that getting it now is the best deal. Kind of a pre-laun...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support

I’d wait for the next silicon lineup. M1s are powerful in unique ways and snappy, yes, but they still have some regular limitations and aren’t fully supported yet. Also, there’s no verification that your specific problem is even addressed. If you’re looking for a portable setup that can run a basic ...

Re: midi control selected tracks

You can make a ‘User Remote Script’. A handy tool that references some built in control surface options in Live. Setup is a little tricky but easy once you work it out. So I suggest a video or website explaining the process. It involves creating a folder within a specific location and putting a copy...

Re: Ableton Live not working on Apple Macbook Pro M1 / Silicon

I think you’d need Live 10 at least. I think Live 9 is behind a bit in macOS versions for support, being as old as it is.
