Re: How do I record the sustain pedal with fixed length clips?

You can hit sustain any time While the first note is pressed. If you press sustain the immediate moment after the downbeat hits, you should be fine. Just make sure it’s not already held down. If anything. Release and then hold it again super quick.

Re: Problems with warping since last update 10.1.1

Does this happen on multiple clips or does it only happen with one clip in particular? Usually if a warp marker appears, it means that it is between two warp markers. So there is a warp marker somewhere before it (probably the 1.1.1) and somewhere after it (might have to zoom out to search for the c...

Re: User 1 mode Launchpad mini

Assuming you have the Launchpad set up as a Control Surface in midi preferences, there are 4 main pages that can be accessed from the top buttons (not the arrow buttons) The pages are: Session View, for launching clips in session view User 1, for playing midi notes (drum rack etc, it is chromatic go...

Re: Black Friday

Last year they didn’t offer much with regards to upgrades, but you never know if it’ll be different this year. If you genuinely want to pay less for the upgrade, you’ll have to keep an eye out in general, not just the holidays. I think it wasn’t until Spring that I finally was able to upgrade. That ...

Leave it up as being selected. But for the hardware I put output dropdowns select None.

Re: New User

As previously mentioned, in order to get an idea of what the expectations are, we would need to see some of the vids you’ve been watching that demonstrate the expected functionality. There are a lot of different ways to use that controller. It is a very versatile device. But what you See, Hear, and ...

Re: Disable a playing clip (or other) from launching

From the responses above, it does sound like you’re limited to not being able to deactivate Play for other clips.

So the next question to ask is ‘how are you accidentally triggering those clips?’ And find a fix or workaround that mechanism

Re: Simpler failed to Warp correctly, found workaround...

Simpler always references the warping already in a clip. Simpler itself isn’t doing the warping. It is just using the warping that exists. If a clip is not warped before dragging it in, Live will ‘guess’ as to how it would be warped. Sometimes it guesses wrong. To guarantee it is correct, drag the c...

Re: micro problem

Try ASIO4ALL, it aggregates soundcards and interfaces sometimes.

Keep in mind that this is just a random shot. Not absolutely positive it’ll work.

Re: Eratic mouse behavior in live

Check system zoom settings (not to be confused with Live zoom), search for they and mouse behavior. It is a problem people have commonly experienced.

Can also experiment with trying the ‘absolute’ mode in Preferences to see if that changes anything.

Re: 'Warping' midi

You can highlight a section and it will give you little handles for ‘stretch’ing what’s highlighted. I’d experiment with it for a bit first before deciding on a plan for tackling the actual project. What I’d probably do is nice a large chunk completely out of the way, stretch a portion, bring that c...

Have you tried just using Simpler instead of a Drum Rack? Cut the sample into 4 parts, drag each part into an instance of Simpler. Play it on Simpler with Push in Notes mode.

Re: Link / Pre-rollCount-in?

You could maybe just find a spare phone or something and run a simple Link-enabled app from it as a metronome. An example of a free, small app on iOS is TweakyBeat. There are quite a few other options out there like this. Aside from that, I think Link is mostly meant to always have a click going. So...

Bluetooth midi clarifications. Especially for Windows

Not sure where to start with this topic. Having used iOS a lot lately I have fallen in love with low energy Bluetooth midi. I especially love a Yamaha dongle adapter which cleverly uses the small amount of power that midi ports transmit in order to power the dongle and allow wireless midi. This is a...
